Well I woke up to a little surprise today. Seems like there is always something to keep you worrying. I am the youngest of 5 boys. When I woke this morning my brother that stays here with me (oldest brother) told me that he had to take our brother to the hospital in the middle of the night.

We been trying to get him to go to the hospital for a while as he been loosing his hair in splotches here and there on his head. Last night he went in... but not because of his hair. His right arm has become increasingly swollen. They admitted him and put him on IV antibiotics. We just got word that the swelling has not gone down at all... and possibly gotten worse. And that they are taking him in for a surgery to release the pressure in his arm and hopefully discover what is going on with him.

Of course I know nothing about medicine at all... but I have to wonder if there is any type of connection between his hair loss and his arm.

My brother works in construction... he hangs and finishes drywall. And there has been rumors in this area that they have changed how the drywall is made and that some drywall workers has had bad reactions to this new drywall. I don't know how true this all is... or if it could be connected to what is going on with my brother.

I really hope that everything is going to be alright! I keep my fingers crossed!

I just found out he made it out of surgery ok. But I wasn't able to find out what caused the massive swelling of his arm. I hope to know more later. All I know for sure is he made it out of surgery and that he will obviously be out of work for a while.

Oh Pete, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I send all my good wishes his way. Let me know exactly what caused his problem and I'll do a little research on it.

I know that there has been some real problems with drywall that comes from China. Many homes have been condemned after using this material. I wonder if he didn't contract something, infection for example, from the things he came into contact with.
