Short Circuit 2, a review by KinkyCyborgShort Circuit 2 Title:Short Circuit 2 Year: 1988 Director: Kenneth Johnson Rating: PG Length: 110 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1, Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Portuguese: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: Chinese, English, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai Stars: Tim Blaney Fisher Stevens Michael McKean Cynthia Gibb Jack Weston Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Ok sequel to the Johnny 5 saga. Not nearly as good as the original but still had some entertaining moments thanks largely to the robot himself. I think I would have enjoyed both installments much more had they dropped Fisher Stevens character who I find is one of the most annoying people on the planet. Cynthia Gibb, hottie and love interest of Rob Lowe in Youngblood was in this but she looks more like a girl scout than a vixen this time around. Lots of Canadian content including Michael McKean and this film was largely produced in Toronto, mostly around Yonge Street. I spotted a plethora of Canadian flags, The World's Biggest Bookstore, CIBC headquarters and I'm pretty sure I saw the Zanzibar... a strip club I have frequented a few times in my wilder days. The editing crew did a shameful job when trying to make the city look like New York. Was ok, but I'm glad they stopped after part 2. KC Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2010 on December 24th, 2010) Severance, a review by Boomstick98Severance (2006) Plot: When a weapons multinational Palisade Defence reward their European sales division with a team-building weekend in the mountains of Eastern Europe, comedy blends with horror as the team fight first amongst themselves, and later for survival against a group of war-crazed killers intent on revenge. My O: This is my second time watching this film and I enjoyed it a much the second time as I did the first. There are some very funny moments in this film and some really good gore effects. Nothing original about a group of people stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of crazed killers, but this one does it well with a comic flair. (From Boomstick's 2009 Horror Marathon on October 2nd, 2009) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdEverybody Loves Raymond Standup comedian Ray Romano stars as Ray Barone, a successful sportswriter and devoted husband to Debra (Patricia Heaton, Beethoven) who must deal with his brother and parents, who happen to live across the street. Frank (Peter Boyle, While You Were Sleeping) and Marie(Doris Roberts, Remington Steele) love to meddle in his life, while older brother Robert (Brad Garrett, Suicide Kings) sometimes resents his success. Nevertheless, Ray manages to keep a bight outlook and a sense of humor as he balances his family and work lives. Pilot Debra is sick and tired of having Raymond's parents and his brother show up unannounced. With her birthday coming up they try not to let Ray's parents and Robert to come over, so they can have a nice peaceful birthday party. My Thoughts: This is a sitcom I always enjoyed. Sure I have seen better... but this one is well worth collecting. It was fun watching the pilot episode again after all these years. The kids really grew int his show. Not to mention you can see quite a bit of difference in Patricia Heaton compared to her new show "The Middle." My Rating: (From Pete's Pilots on January 25th, 2010) |
