Night of the Comet, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Night of the Comet Movie Count: 52 TV Ep Count: 18 Time Started: 6am Plot: It's the first comet to buzz the planet in 65 million years, and everyone seems to be celebrating its imminent arrival! Everyone, that is, except for Regina Belmont (Catherine Mary Stewart), and her younger sister Samantha (Kelli Maroney), two valley gals who care more about meteoric fashion trends than celestial phenomena. But upon daybreak, when the girls discover they're the only residents of Los Angeles whom the comet hasn't either disintegrated or turned into a zombie, they...well, they go shopping! But when their day of malling threatens to become a day of the mauling, these two val gals flee with both killer zombies and blood-seeking scientists in hot pursuit! My Thoughts: After watching Kelli Maroney in "Chopping Mall" the other day I had the urge to watch this one with her as well. This is a movie that I just find plain fun... nothing more then that. Just "leave your brain at the door" fun. It has a nice mixture of comedy that works well in my opinion. It is just a shame that they did not add any type of extras for this one. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 15th, 2008) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, a review by AntaresThe Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) 90/100Once Upon a Time in the West, another investment in extended personal time, just seems to breeze by. As DAILY PLANET reporters CLARK KENT and LOIS LANE, Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher clash, cooperate and flirt while chasing the hottest stories in METROPOLIS. The hottest scoop of all is Lois's secret heartthrob, the superhero she doesn't know is Clark's alter ego. Pilot Mild-mannered Clark Kent arrives in Metropolis, becomes a reporter for the Daily Planet, and creates his secret Superman identity. His first challenge: stop Lex Luthor from sabotaging the Space Station. My Thoughts: This is a double length episode that started the series. I enjoyed every minute of this episode. It is a good introduction to the characters. I did find it strange that they had Lex Luthor with hair.... but that is ok... it didn't take away from the show for me. This season is the only one to have the character of Cat played by Tracy Scoggins. I don't mind that she was in the only season... as Cat has always been my least favorite character of the series. I really enjoyed the scene where Martha Kent was making Clark's Superman outfit. Some of the costumes they came up for him was pretty funny... but there was actually one or two that I kinda liked. Of course not as much as the real costume... but cool for some newly made up superhero. Another reason I really like this show... it focuses more on the lives of Lois and Clark... making Superman something Clark can do... not who he is. My Rating: Note: This review is from my previous Lois & Clark marathon (From Pete's Pilots on February 24th, 2010) |
