American Crude, a review by KinkyCyborgAmerican Crude Title:American Crude Year: 2007 Director: Craig Sheffer Rating: R Length: 98 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Portuguese: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Other: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: Chinese, English, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai Stars: Raymond J. Barry Amanda Detmer Michael Clarke Duncan Jennifer Esposito Ron Livingston Plot: Tonight seemed like a good idea at the time... Michael Clarke Duncan (School For Scoundrels), Jennifer Esposito (Taxi), Ron Livingston (Office Space) and Rob Schneider (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo) give hilarious performances in this offbeat comedy! For years, Johnny (Livingston) has been successfully devising schemes that would help him achieve the American Dream. Until the night he throws a bachelor party for his best friend. Now, before the frantic evening is over, all his best-laid plans comes crashing down as the paths of several highly eccentric characters (including a transsexual prostitute, a runaway virgin, a gorgeous gun-wielding ex-con and a porn king) converge in this seriously twisted comedy where no deed - good or bad - goes unpunished. Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Decent cast in a real shitball of a movie. I thought this was going to be a slapstick comedy about a bachelor party gone out of control and it does attempt this but also tries to be a half dozen other things as well. There were a couple of mildly humorous moments but for the most part this was a stupid dud. Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2011 on September 7th, 2011) The Santa Clause, a review by Danae CassandraThe Santa Clause Year of Release: 1994 Directed By: John Pasquin Starring: Tim Allen, Judge Reinhold, Wendy Crewson, Eric Lloyd, David Krumholtz Genre: Comedy Overview: Superstar comedian and Golden Globe winner Tim Allen shines bright in Disney's magical, larger-than-life hit comedy that People Magazine dubbed "the most playfully amusing, inventive cinematic...fable in several decades!" Rooftop clatter leads to merry adventure after Santa falls down on the job, and Scott Calvin's son Charlie convinces dad to try on the red suit. Eight reindeer pilot the pair to the North Pole, where they soon discover that by donning the famous suit, dad must now accept all of Santa's duties! Over the next year, a surprised, not-so-jolly Scott grows a Santa-sized tummy and beard, causing friends, family and business associates to wonder if he's lost his marbles. All except Charlie, who thinks his dad is perfectly suited for his new job! Each well-kept secret of the North Pole is revealed in Disney's hilarious and heartwarming tale that's "destined to become a holiday classic" (New York Post). Now you can unwrap all the magic of the holidays any day of the year! My Thoughts: This is a fun, light-hearted film that I can easily see adding to my semi-annual rotation of Christmas films. I was honestly surprised to enjoy this as much as I did. I've never been a big fan of Tim Allen; he's always come off very bland to me. He totally works in a Christmas movie, however! He comes off as an average, basically decent guy with everyday sorts of problems trying to adjust to this increasingly fantastic world he gets sucked into. Family-friendly and easily recommended for any audience. Coyote Piper When a life essence takes possession of Piper, her soul is at risk of dying if Prue and Phoebe don't kill her body. My Thoughts: Ahhhhhh... this is more like it. Finally an episode I can sink my teeth into. I loved every second of this episode! For one thing it is a piper episode! But also it deals with possession... one of my favorite subjects when it comes to horror movies. So that makes it a lot of fun to watch. Besides... what straight male couldn't love Holly Marie Combs' dance on that bar!... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ4viLcwtuI That scene alone shows me music actually is good for something! And then there was the added plus that Cole was not in this episode. Sure there was a lot of talk about him... but he didn't actually appear in the episode. 10. We All Scream For Ice Cream Phoebe and Prue battle to save innocent children from the force of The Nothing, but must enlist the help of their father to do so. My Thoughts: More of a lighthearted episode. Seemed to be an episode that was played seriously... but at the same time for fun. This episode is also the first time in this season that we see the sister's father. The episode itself was definitely enjoyable. Plus another Cole-less episode as well. 11. Blinded By The Whitelighter The Charmed Ones battle their most powerful opponent, an ancient warlock who threatens the existence of all Whitelighters and witches. My Thoughts: A very good, strong episode. This time around Phoebe comes clean about not vanquishing Cole... but only to Leo. At this point she still hasn't told her sisters. Cole still hasn't shown back up yet... which is cool by me. And in this episode Piper and Leo is officially engaged. 12. Wrestling With Demons When Phoebe confesses that she let Cole escape, a betrayed Prue and Piper must put their feelings aside to stop Prue's old boyfriend from becoming a demon. My Thoughts: And this is the episode that Phoebe finally lets her sisters know that Cole is still alive. I actually have mixed feelings about this one. No real reason... it is a fun episode... but for some reason whenever I watch it I get the feeling that somehow it could have been better. I did kinda get a kick out of seeing the pro wrestlers on this one... I used to watch pro wrestling as a teen... but it has been many years since I been into it. Just kinda grew out of it.
