Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Year: 1982 Director: Nicholas Meyer Rating: PG Length: 113 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English Stars: William Shatner Leonard Nimoy DeForest Kelley James Doohan Walter Koenig George Takei Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: The first thing I will say is that I am glad I watched the episode Space Seed before watching this movie. While I agree it isn't absolutely necessary... I did like having the back info from the episode before watching this one. And this one I enjoyed immensely. This is more like I was expecting from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. A great story... stunning visuals... and having the characters all back again. I also really liked the addition of Kristie Alley as Saavik. I didn't realize until today that Kristie Alley ever had a role in a Star Trek movie... or that it was her first movie role. Since I never seen the first 3 movies before today... the ending came as a surprise to me as well. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: The Final Frontier on August 13th, 2010) My Favorite Martian, a review by TomTitle: My Favorite Martian Year: 1999 Director: Donald Petrie Rating: FSK-6 Length: 90 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: Dolby Digital 5.1, Hungarian: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: Dutch, English, German, Hungarian, Polish Stars: Christopher Lloyd Jeff Daniels Elizabeth Hurley Daryl Hannah Wallace Shawn Plot: When a harmless Martian (Christopher Lloyd) crashes onto earth, and into the life of struggling TV reporter, Tim (Jeff Daniels), he must use all his magical powers to keep his identity a secret and quickly find a way back to Mars. Tim initially wants to expose the friendly Martian, whom he names,'Uncle Martin', and his crazy animated spacesuit, Zoot. Ultimately Tim helps Uncle Martin, but can he send him safely home before the world discovers thier secret? Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: The fun part about this movie are the antics of Christopher Lloyd as Martin. He is just perfect at playing eccentric characters. Otherwise this movie is nothing special. Though I love the fact that Ray Walston (Martin in the original series) appears in a cameo as a Martian who has been waiting for 30 years on Earth for a chance to get back to Mars.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on August 24th, 2009) Miracles Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdMiracles Marathon 6. The Hand of God Paul comes under investigation by the police after a woman is found murdered in her home, leaving behind her diary where she had sketched his name and image, along with the words "God is nowhere". Guest Stars: Blake Bashoff John Thaddeus Pat Skipper Robert Clotworthy My Thoughts: This is the final episode to air on ABC in it's original run. Thankfully they gave us the entire 13 episodes on this DVD collection. This episode is an interesting one as it continues with the series long storyline. But it did seem a little slow to me. This episode completes the second disc in the set. My Rating: (From Miracles Marathon on December 30th, 2009) |
