Labyrinth, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:Labyrinth Year: 1986 Director: Jim Henson Rating: PG Length: 101 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: David Bowie Jennifer Connelly Toby Froud Shelley Thompson Christopher Malcolm Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Featurettes Production Notes Closed Captioned 6-Page Booklet My Thoughts: A classic! Jim Henson magic at it's finest. This has always been my favorite David Bowie performance. He blends his music into his role perfectly and is deliciously evil. A cute Jennifer Connelly, on the brink of being breathtakingly gorgeous, takes us on a magical quest born of her imagination. Only Jim Henson could make his muppets looks so ugly and yet be so endearing, often delivering performances that make them more believable than those of their human acting counterparts. My daughter made it through about half of this movie before she fell asleep, asking me every 5 minutes if they were going to save the baby boy. I'll have to put the rest of it back on for her tomorrow. Goyer Rating: Unrated Length: 122 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital EX: 5.1 (Matrixed 6.1), English: DTS ES: 5.1 (Matrixed 6.1), English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Wesley Snipes Kris Kristofferson Dominic Purcell Jessica Biel Ryan Reynolds Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned Both Theatrical (rated R) and Extended Versions (not rated) My Thoughts: This film was the weakest of the trilogy for me. The movie dragged at several points and I did not care for the Hannibal King character..I just don't like wise asses, not to mention that while Blade and Abigail are killing off vampires left and right during the big, climactic fight scene, Hannibal has fights with just two and almost loses both. Purcell does a good job with Drake, and I really liked his "primal form". The whole lock up sequence at the police station and the escape were just a waste of valuable film time.Fortunately, this seems to be the end of the story...hopefully! Double or Nothing Original Air Date: 4/22/2002 Even as Fred, Cordelia and Angel come to Gunn's aid when a demon arrives to collect his soul, Wesley realizes his actions have cost him his job and his friends at Angel Investigations. Guest Stars: Mark Lutz Jason Carter Patrick St. Esprit My Thoughts: And we have another episode I enjoyed. This one is less on the season long arc and more a stand alone episode. I must admit I got a kick out of what Gunn sold his soul for. I somehow forgot about it since I last watched it. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 15th, 2010) |
