Plot:
In the annals of action movies few can compare with The Road Warrior, a full-throttle epic of speed and carnage that rockets you into a dreamlike landscape where the post-nuclear future meets the mythological past. More simply, it's also one of the most mind-blowing stunt movies ever made.

Before he took aim in three Lethal Weapons and starred in 1994's Maverick, Mel Gibson had already made his mark on movie history as Max, the heroic loner who drives the roads of outback Australia in an unending search for gasoline. Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defenders of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by The Humungus, notorious for never taking prisoners when they can pulverize them instead.

When the battle is joined, the results are savage, spectacular and "a smashing good time at the movies" (Sheila Benson, Los Angeles Times). With The Road Warrior on your side, screen action doesn't get any better.

My Thoughts:
I know I have seen this movie back when it was first released. But going into it today... the only thing I remember about it is that I enjoyed it. What little I remembered I was right about. This is a good movie... though not something I see myself being able to watch very often. But I would like to at the very least get Mad Max in my collection to go with it. The DVD itself is a decent release. It has both the widescreen and Fullscreen versions of the movie on a double sided disc. It really don't have that much for extras. But I definitely can't complain. It is a good movie with a standard DVD release. BTW... it is one that I got for free when our good friend Achim sent it to me in a DVD Care Package. Thanks Again Achim! Now I just wish I had the other Mad Max movies to watch today!

Plot:

I was sure I had watched this movie years ago... I mean who hasn't seen Heathers? After it was over I realized this was my first viewing.

Well, it certainly wasn't shy when it came to making a statement. In fact, it's easy to see why this became a cult classic... they made fun of teenage suicide! What better way to get people's attention!!

It started to get a little too silly for my liking after awhile and I thought to myself what kind of movie would it have been had they removed all the comedy elements and made this a serious movie about teenage angst? I think the impact may have been greater than it already was.

Christian Slater was quite the young pup and I get the feeling he was somewhat emulating Jack Nicholson... perhaps without even realizing it.

Wynona Ryder gave a performance that was quite similar to other roles she had around that time... slightly goth, sharp tongued and with a smart ass opinion about everything. Truly, nobody did it better than she did and I kind of miss that from her out of the meager performances we've seen from her lately.

The comedic spin on such a morbid subject was likely groundbreaking, even by late 80's standards. Nowadays nothing is taboo or sacred when it comes to film making. Brokeback Mountain was probably the last film to raise eyebrows.

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

13. Witness (1/8/94)
What a scoop! An eccentric scientist is killed, and Lois is the only witness. But the murderer is determined that Lois won't live long enough to file her story.

My Thoughts:
A good episode. But not a favorite. Just a basic one.I have been enjoying seeing the relationship of Lois and Clark grow... especially over the last few episodes. And I also enjoyed watching Lois kick a little butt in this episode. While she isn't great at protecting herself... she isn't exactly helpless either.
