Storm of the Dead, a review by Jimmy

Title : Storm of the Dead (2006)

Overview
When the Florida Panhandle is hit by a "Category 5" hurricane, the President of the United States has no choice but to reactivate the Florida Militia to restore order in the region. In their quest to restore stability to an unstable area, the Militia is ordered to 'shoot looters'. When one of the looters tracked down and shot is the grandson of a Voodoo Queen, all hell breaks loose as she seeks revenge on the Militia.

My Impression
After watching this film I feel the same deception that if I would Have watch a movie called "Curse of the Black Mummy" and the film have been about an African mother using a lot of four letter words... More simply said there are no storm and no zombies in this film. It's just a non credible army reserve unit (with no name tag or apparent rank on their uniform or respect for the officer and carrying Chief Boyardee can as lunch in place of ration pack) who walks supposedly in the Florida swamp, find a trailer trash girl with a big pair of breast, 3 of the soldier are kill by the girl who is in fact an old black woman, 3 of them return at the base after talking with the old woman about the fact that it's not friendly to shoot looters and the movie is over. The film is as boring as it sounds... Debra Cassano (she's a pretty good actress) and Karin Justman are certainly two beautifull women (no, none of them are the TTGWBB)

But that wasn't enough to make this film interesting for me.

My Thoughts:
I think the gimmick, that Nic Cage's character can see two minutes into the future, has been executed well in this movie. I am not sure if I like the ending or not.

.
But it works in the frame of the story.

I hadn't realized that Peter Falk still made an appearence in such a recent movie. Nice to see him again.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 1 Marathon
The mother of all destiny. Her son, the future leader of mankind. Their protector, a Terminator from the future. Together they must take back the future as Sarah Connor (300's Lena Headey) prepares her son to fight the war against machines determined to annihilate the human race. The Clock is ticking. Can they stop Judgement Day?

Disc 1:

1. Pilot
No one is ever safe, least of all Sarah Connor and her son, John. Tired of running from the machines, Sarah decides to stand and fight.

My Thoughts:
This is a great start to the series. Yes, it is a lot like the first 2 movies. But I think this is a good thing... for anyone that might have never seen the movies (if that is possible). They really went all out for the pilot episode. Lots of great effects and a really enjoyable storyline.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

2. Gnothi Seauton
New future, new identity. Cromartie, the battered but relentless Terminator programmed to kill John Connor, resurfaces.

My Thoughts:
Another good episode... though it is not as good as the pilot episode. There was no real surprises in this episode... it pretty much went in the direction I was expecting throughout the episode. But definitely a good continuation from the pilot episode.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

3. The Turk
He's just a geek with a hobby. But is the computer chess program Andy Goode developed the beginning of the end?

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this episode as well. I got a kick out of John and Cameron going to school... only to find that at the entrance there is a metal detector and they have to explain how Cameron keeps setting off the metal detector. This one has another really interesting storyline that was well done.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
