Plot:
It's her time. Her place. The wickedly regal Mother of All Vampires is ready again to rule! Aaliyah plays the title role in this stylish shocker based on Anne Rice's 'The Vampire Chronicles'. Stuart Townsend portrays Lestat, the undead antihero previously seen in the movie version of Anne Rice's 'Interview with the Vampire'. This time, Lestat finds acceptance in a tattooed and pierced world. He's a rock star. And his intoxicating Goth-riffed sound rekindles the desires of all-powerful Akasha.

My Thoughts:
As much as I love vampire movies... this one is difficult for me to watch. This was originally a blind buy for me years ago... as it is a vampire movie I had to see it. And I haven't seen it since so I forgot how much I disliked this movie the first time around. The first problem for me was of all the music in this movie. But setting the music aside... it just isn't that great a story. There was some cool scenes with some decent effects. But that seems to be the most I can give this movie.

Reboot of original Star Trek crew and well done! I was never a big fan of the original series and yet I was an avid fan of Star Trek : The Next Generation, both the tv series and it's spinoff movies. I was extremely pissed off when they canceled STNG at the height of it's popularity and I could never get into Deep Space 9 or any of the series after that. I don't know... I thought the original series was so incredibly hokey... I may give them another chance.

J.J. Abrams brings the action and SFX in all it's glory in this one but gives it a more contemporary feel with some humor thrown in for good measure. I particularly liked Karl Urban and Bones McCoy. Leonard Nimoy makes a reverent appearance and fit well into the story.  I heard William Shatner was pissed that he was not asked to be involved with this movie. I'm glad! Adding that porker to the movie would have greatly diminished the credibility of the film.

The way this story unfolded it has left the door wide open for any number of sequels. I'm sure they are coming....

What's the show about?
Captain Kirk and his crew aboard the starhip Enterprise explore the unknown parts of the galaxy and have dealings with the strangest aliens such as the Klingons or Trelane.

"Where No Man Has Gone Before"
During the try of breaking through the galactic border the ships gets heavily damaged and several crewmembers get killed. But one man - Gary Mitchell, an old friend of Kirk's - was somehow altered. The question remains if whether he is now a threat to the ships security.

My Opinion
Kirk was simply a cool guy and the only man known that grows more hairs over the years instead of less. "Star Trek" is a cult classic and most of the episodes are still watchable. But I liked the movies more than the series.
