My Thoughts:
This is another movie I got in the Alfred Hitchcock: The Legend Begins set. This one turned out to be an enjoyable movie as well. It is a nice little murder mystery with a bit of comedy and romance thrown in for good measures. I do think the mystery was solved a little too easily at the end though. While not the best I ever seen... I thought the quality of the DVD was surprisingly good. But that is probably because of two things... how old the movie is and how cheap the set is. So I was expecting very low quality. Watched 2 movies out of this set now... and enjoyed them both. This is turning into a right good purchase.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Roxanne, a review by Dragonfire

Comic genius Steve Martin delivers an incredible performance as an engaging small town fire chief who has only one tiny flaw - no, make that one HUGE flaw - his astonishingly long nose.  Although he considers it no laughing matter, the hilarity never stops as C.D. Bales (Martin) contends with jerky nose jokes, a bumbling crew of firemen, and his secret love for gorgeous astronomy student Roxanne (Daryl Hannah).  Unfortunately, she is attracted to fireman Chris (Rick Rossovich), who's tall on looks and short on conversation.  And when C.D. agrees to coach the the dumbstruck Chris in his pursuit of the fair maiden, this ticklish triangle dissolves into a hilarious series of rib-tickling romantic misadventures.  A contemporary love story of mistaken identity and unrequited love, ROXANNE is an unforgettable comedy that Siskel & Ebert call "a comic masterpiece".

My Thoughts

This was the first time that I'd watched this movie in many years.  I picked up the DVD maybe 2 months ago and hadn't gotten around to watching it until now.  I remembered the basic idea of the plot, but I had forgotten just how funny it was at times.  Steven Martin was great in the part and made a very funny, intelligent character.  Roxanne seemed a bit....flaky to me though.  She went on about wanting to meet an intelligent guy for a change, and then she went after Chris, the good looking guy.  At one point when talking to C.D., she claimed that the guy she was interested in was interesting and intelligent even though she had never actually spoken to him.  Then just a minute or two later she was asking C.D. what Chris was like.  And Chris was just a big idiot.  He was definitely not the brightest bulb.  Even though a few of the characters irritated me a bit, I did enjoy the movie overall and think it is worth watching.

Angel Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 2

RM W/A VU
Synopsis: Cordelia wants out of the grabage can which she has to call her apartment. Doyle, who has financial problems, makes a deal with Angel: Doyle organizes a new apartment for Cordelia and Angel helps him with his problems. But the apartment Doyle found is not really uninhabited.

My Opinion: Cordelia doesn't change at all - at least not yet. But it was cool to see how she talked the ghost out of her apartment.

Sense & Sensitivity
Synopsis: After Angel helped the cop Kate Lochley to bust a gangster, his attorney forces a senistivity training on the entrie police station. But the trainer has a very special teaching technique.

My Opinion: Angel on an emotional trip and he wants to express his feelings! Hard-ass cops who cry and hug each other. Liked it.

The Bachelor Party
Synopsis: As it comes out, Doyle is married. But his marriage failed because Doyle coulnd't handle being half-demon. Now his wife wants the divorce to marry another man - who is also a demon. But this one has special plans for his bachelor party.

My Opinion: This entire episode was meant to let Cordelia find out that Doyle is a half-demon - only that she didn't. They managed to avoid it somehow. But that aside, it was interesting to see "culturally integrated" demons.

I Will Remember You
Synopsis: The second part of the "Buffy" (4x08)/"Angel" crossovers. After Angel helped Buffy in Sunnydale without revealing himself, Buffy comes to L.A. to confront him. But then something happens which neither expected: Angel becomes human again - and that opens a can of possebillities for both.

My Opinion: Since I've watched all episodes of "Buffy" I could anticipate what would happen. But it was nonetheless nice to see Buffy again even when it didn't last long.
