I think it’s resolved since then, but in case/when it happens again: Yes, adding manually first and then changing the UPC is the way to go.

I often do that for profiles that don’t exist yet, adding something to my Wish List early. Then once the UPC becomes available I change/add it in the profile and as soon as it becomes available, my profile can be updated.

TV Series / Re: Hello North America, Goodbye North America

All the Best Wishes for a complete recovery of your mom's knee! (At this point maybe already better...?)

I haven't watched TV in Germany in years... Is it that much better? I do remember there being less breaks (maybe every 10 minutes for TV shows and every 15 for movies?), but on some channels these breaks can get rather lengthy...(?) But like I said, I haven't watched it in a while, so I might remember it worse than it is. (I don't watch it, because of the dubbing, I really don't like dubbed programming.)

Invelos Software Related / Re: Is Invelos down?

First noticed it this morning, when I could not add an item in the iOS app, now tried to check the site and it did not load.

I always feel rather anxious when this happens... :-[

Edit 1: Anybody been to the site this year...?

Edit 2: Checked whois. Apparently the domain only expires later this year in May (2022-05-11). (That's where my mind went, thought maybe it had expired 12/31...)

I have seen Time Bandits when it was still fairly new (on VHS though, not in the cinema), and liked it very much back then. Hence, I have quite a soft spot for it now, having the added nostalgia for it.

But I guess taking a step back I can see your point, about this still being influenced by his earlier material and he had not found his own yet.

Invelos Software Related / Re: Database Consistency Checker
« on: April 24, 2020, 09:54:39 AM »
Once I get to use it, I would want to check profiles that have a certain tag set whether a set of fields is empty.

I usually like to keep certain fields empty for the parents (Box Sets; audio, video, genre, runtime; anything directly related to the actual content really) or the child (TV series; audio, video, genre). As you called one of your Watchable Profile I feel you are using it quite similarly to my intent.

Strong agreement from me as well. Especially the near silent (almost no Words spoken) opening scenes are wonderful; and then that introduction to Henry Fonda...

The Collector's Place / Re: Some Year End Totals...
« on: December 23, 2018, 10:24:56 AM »
While I certainly averaged more than one per month, I did reduce the total purchased. I don't have DVD Profiler open right now to look, but I think I bought less than 150 this year (maybe even close to 100(, down from over 200 the previous years.

I feel your pain...

I have a few shows on Netflix in "My List" which are not original Netflix content and am rather concerned whether it will be removed before I get to it. In fact, I think some stuff has been removed already, I believe (movies though, not TV shows).

I am pretty sure Gunnar was joking, but I still gotta wonder how Weinstein was involved with the LOTR movies...  :headscratch: It was produced by New Line Cinema, which was then later bought by Warner Bros., not Miramax...?

Also, punishment should only happen forward indeed, but should be by the studios not employing them, because if we just don't watch the stuff these people made or are in, a lot more people get punished who are involved in the process of making a film. But then again, if they still hire him, things are fair game. Like Ridley Scott realized and acted upon last year with All The Money In The World.

And sadly we have to agree, that this is not a new phenomenon, it is just that the modern times now encourage the victims to step forward.

It's that question about whether one can or should separate an artist's personal life and their art.

Many artist have made questionable (at best) choices in their lives, but maybe we can still enjoy their art while despising the person. Of course, such decision also depends on the gravity of their choice, so murder or sex trafficking will likely have a different weight for that decision than other choices.

Also, about the things the artist created before this came to light. While I can make a statement not watching new releases after the issues come to light, the old stuff already stands...? E.g. Netflix did not remove old episodes of House of Cards from their repertoire, but they do not include Kevin Spacey in future episodes (the final season). Can I still watch Se7en or should I throw the DVD out because Kevin Spacey is in it?

...and then there is all those guys we just don't know what they did (yet).
