Good Will Hunting, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:Good Will Hunting Year: 1997 Director: Gus Van Sant Rating: R Length: 126 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French Stars:Plot: From highly acclaimed director, Gus Van Sant this triumphant story was nominated for 9 Academy Awards winning Oscars for Robin Williams and hot new comers Matt Damon (Rounders) and Ben Affleck (Armageddon) and featuring Academy Award nominee Minnie Driver. Will Hunting (Damon) is a head strong working-class genius. After one too many run ins with the law, Will's last chance is a psychology professor (Williams). Experience this powerful and unforgettable movie. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Production Notes Music Videos My Thoughts: This is my 3rd or 4th time watching this and it's still a great movie. Matt Damon was good as the troubled young math prodigy who hides behind his mundane jobs and simple friends. No one can get through to him until he encounters a likable psychology professor played by Robin Williams in an Oscar winning performance. His was a powerful performance and even more admirable as it must have been quite the effort on his part to act in such a subdued manner. This was a really compelling story... I can still not fathom how a couple of schmucks like Matt Damon & Ben Affleck could have wrote this Oscar winning screenplay. This will trump anything they will ever accomplish as actors and just goes to show that the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then. (Pete Hammond, Hollywood.com) When Andi (Emma Roberts) and Bruce (Jake T. Loaded with adorable dogs, a team of clever kids and ingenious gadgets, this heartwarming adventure will leave you wondering - who let the dogs in? Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery My Thoughts: I told Brittany I would watch another one from her collection with her this weekend. Still sticking with a DVD I never seen before of course. In this case a movie I never seen. This is a cute movie... it had several laughs in it for me. Definitely worth checking out... especially if you already like family movies. Of course like any family movie it has the all-around happy ending. But that is to be expected in these types of movies. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 9th, 2010) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 5 6. The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco Original Air Date: 11/5/2003 Feeling disconnected from his real mission to be a hero for the people, Angel befriends an elderly mail clerk at the firm who was once a hero too and who feels the same way. Guest Stars: Danny Mora Bruno Gioiello My Thoughts: This one never really impressed me that much. Found it to be a bit slow and uninteresting. Probably one of my least favorite of any I have watched so far. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 22nd, 2010) |
