Police Academy 6: City Under Siege, a review by Dragonfire

Police Academy 6: City Under Siege
A crime spree called Operation Chaos is plaguing the city. Time to call out our frontline defense. And when that defense is made up of Police Academy alumni, it's also time to pray!

Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, David Graf, Marion Ramsey, Leslie Easterbrook, G.W. Bailey, George Gaynes and other returnees strap on laugh-riot gear for Police Academy 6: City Under Siege. A mysterious Mr. Big is the mastermind behind a gang that robs banks and jewelers. Cmdt. Lassard is suspected when it becomes clear that a police department information leak is keeping the bad guys one step ahead. Solving the case won't take a mastermind, just an arsenal of gags and goofiness in the fun Police Academy tradition.

This is one of the weaker movies in the series, though I still managed to enjoy it..a little.  I remember liking it more when I first saw it when it came out.  The plot has some potential, but it ends up being rather weak.  There are some funny moments, but not enough.  Things are predictable and the jokes don't work as well.  The characters aren't developed that much and nothing new is added to the returning characters.

The movie is ok, but far from great.

I did get a review posted on Epinions.

The Mob, a review by Antares

The Mob (1951) 78/100 - Found this over on YouTube, and though it really is more of a crime film than a noir, I have to say that I really enjoyed this. Broderick Crawford does a good job as the undercover cop who infiltrates the docks, looking for mob related activity. You can see the beginnings of his Highway Patrol character Chief Dan Mathews, from a few years later starting to emerge. The most fun part of the film is spotting some of the better character actors of the fifties and sixties in minor roles. Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, John Marley, Neville Brand, Emile Meyer, Lawrence Dobkin and Frank De Kova all have small, but interesting roles in the screenplay. It's a fast paced film that never relents in keeping the story engaging and involving. Toss in some very good camera work and you've got one of those hidden gems from the vaults of Columbia Pictures.

Teal = Masterpiece
Dark Green = Classic or someday will be
Lime Green = A good, entertaining film
Orange = Average
Red = Cinemuck
Brown = The color of crap, which this film is

Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom

17. Passion (1998-02-24)
Writer: Ty King (Writer)
Director: Michael E. Gershman
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Kristine Sutherland (Joyce Summers), Robia LaMorte (Jenny Calendar), Richard Assad (Shop Owner), James Marsters (Spike), Juliet Landau (Drusilla), Danny Strong (Student), Richard Hoyt Miller (Policeman)

A great episode! With a few scenes I always found very powerful: Angel killing Jenny. Giles finding Jenny. The phone call were Buffy and Willow learn that Jenny is dead. And the scene outside of the factory after Buffy saved Giles.

Rating:
