The Sorority, a review by addicted2dvdOK... you talked me into it... now I need to decide if I forgive you! The Sorority A small college town is gripped in terror as coeds are being found burned alive. Carved into their charred remainsare the words "Join or die". The police has no leads, but when a student discovers that the hottest sorority on campus is actually a coven of devil worshipers, she's brutally murdered by the Satanic witches. At the student's graveside her sister vows revenge and sets out to make things right. Hunter becomes the hunted as she fights her way through a maze of Satanic rituals, murder, beheadings, lesbianism and black magic in her quest for vengeance, as all hell breaks loose in the final showdown between good and evil. My Thoughts: OMG... what a total and utter waste of time! Naturally after seeing the trailer to this movie the other day online I was not expecting much of anything at all. But in this case I was not expecting anything and still got disappointed! The acting is atrocious... the quality of the effects is laughable... and the DVD itself is pitiful! I got this DVD for free.... And I Feel Cheated!!! I was never so thrilled to see a set of credits roll! (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on June 13th, 2008) The Contract, a review by Silence_of_LambsSummary: Ray Keene (John Cusack), a father who wants to redeem himself in the eyes of his son (Jamie Anderson), is trying to bring Carden (Morgan Freeman), a world-class assassin to justice. All the while, he must protect his son and evade the assassin's team who are methodically hunting them down in the wilderness. My Thoughts: Now here we have a movie with a world-class start, that sadly can't keep up with its extremely promising beginning. Very soon it's obvious that Cusack and Freeman are taking this as a routine-job. These two alone could make a movie sparkle, but both lack the necessary esprit for this here, so we learn that these two alone could pull a movie down to an average mass-production. It's an entertaining movie, but it's only another variation of the old "Run & Hide"-genre. The several implied subjects (father-/son conflict, or "the assassin as a tool of politics"), remain strangely flat and are miraculously solved at the end of the movie. This movie is a "Must" for fans of either Cusack, Freeman or the genre. All others don't miss much if they never saw it. Most of it looks awfully familiar anyway. My Rating: (out of possible 5) (From Michael's random reviews on January 5th, 2011) Arrow: The Complete First Season, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn David Ramsey as John Diggle Willa Holland as Thea Queen Extras:
My Thoughts: I just finished watching the first season of Arrow for the first time. I must say... I enjoyed it very much. The series is loaded with a bunch of great action... and it has a great storyline that keeps your interest as well. I think the entire cast did a fine job as well. Though the series is not perfect. First off is this series is about the Green Arrow... but yet they refuse to call him this... through-out the entire first season he is only known as "The Hood". Also I didn't like how they did his mask. I mean just wearing green make-up across his eyes like a mask? No... this just not right. And this series also falls short where many superhero movies and TV Series do... to many people learning Green Arrow's secret identity. I can accept one... maybe two for the entire run... but more then that is just too much in my opinion. But despite all those problems I found another series that I love. So can't wait to watch the season 2 episodes... especially with how the first season ended. If you never seen this series... I highly recommend it.My Rating: (From Arrow: The Complete First Season on April 24th, 2014) |
