Antwone Fisher, a review by addicted2comicsAntwone Fisher The Plot: Antwone Fisher, a young navy man, is forced to see a psychiatrist after a violent outburst against a fellow crewman. During the course of treatment a painful past is revealed and a new hope begins. My Thoughts: It took some time before I wanted to watch this, being it 2 hours long. (Idk, guess I have a short attention span) When I sat down and watched it, really it started off slow, as expected. Still, its a good inspirational movie. You have you romance. You have family. You have tough times. You have realism. You even have a chuckle every now and then. It can be dark at times, and anyone who knows me knows I'm all about the lighthearted movies, but if you're looking for a movie with meaning and inspiration, I highly recommend this. My Rating Out of 5 (From Addicted2comics(:P)'s Official Review Thread!!! on September 4th, 2010) Modern Problems, a review by DragonfireModern Problems I first saw Modern Problems years ago, I think on Encore. I recently found it on HBO and decided to watch it again. I remembered enjoying the movie overall. Things are a little silly, but the movie is entertaining. The plot isn't complicated, though there is one or two twists. There are some special effects used in a few scenes. The effects do look dated, but they aren't that bad considering when the movie was made. The characters are kind of flat and it isn't the easiest to like a few of them. The cast is fine in their parts. The movie does have a few issues, but it is entertaining. Chevy Chase has done better. Stars: Tom Welling as Clark Kent Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan Erica Durance as Lois Lane Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen Laura Vandervoort as Kara John Glover as Lionel Luthor Extras:
My Thoughts: While I still enjoyed this season very much over-all... it has my least favorite storyline of the entire series. That being the Veritas storyline. The episodes dealing with Veritas just didn't hold my interest as much as any of the other episodes. This season does introduce Kara/Supergirl. As for guest stars I am familiar with for this season. There was Dean Cain who played Clark Kent/Superman himself in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. James Marsters returns in several episodes as Brainiac. This season we also see the long gone Sam Jones III (Pete Ross) back for a single episode. Gina Holden (Blood Ties) shows up for a single episode as well. The seventh season aired in 2007. Which is the year of the writer's strike. But we seemed to get lucky for this series... and didn't lose out on too many episodes this time. As this season still has 20 episodes. So I am thankful for that. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on August 30th, 2011) |
