The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movie Count: 77 TV Ep Count: 38 Other Count: 2 Time Started: 8am Plot: This is the bizarre and tragically gruesome account of what happened to five young friends one summer afternoon in rural Texas. After hearing reports of grave robbing, the group sets out to check on a family grave. Soon after, one-by-one they wander into the murderous clutches of Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen). 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is a frightening classic that possesses an undying power to terrorize audiences again and again. It's ability to truly horrify is so strong that when the movie first opened, some people actually walked out in a state of shock. My Thoughts: Wow... what to say about this movie. I can pretty much sum it up in one word... Awesome! This one has great atmosphere. It is done very well... real edge of your seat watching here! If there is any one thing I could change about this movie... it would be the non-stop screaming the one girl does at the end of the movie. I do understand why it is there and all... but it just gets aggravating to hear like that after a while. That one scene has definitely cut down on my repeat viewing. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 24th, 2008) Bells Are Ringing, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:Bells Are Ringing Year: 1960 Director: Vincente Minnelli Rating: NR Length: 126 Min. Great fun and a swinging time! Always loved Dean Martin... he could sing, act and dance all while half in the bag! Judy Holliday was good too although not her best role as her wacky character is a bit over the top. A pre-Edith Bunker, Jean Stapleton makes an appearance too! My 5 year old daughter, who has taken to watching movies with me quite frequently (that's Daddy's girl!) sat and watched most of this too and loved the musical bits. She now proclaims to everyone that she can do the Cha-Cha-Cha! Stars: Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon Aisha Tyler as Andrea Moreno David Conrad as Jim Clancy Extras:
My Thoughts: This is the series that made me a fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt. I think she was just fantastic in this series. As was Aisha Tyler and David Conrad. This first season stuck more to the drama... it isn't until later seasons that they explored the more spooky storylines such a series can do. I really enjoyed most all the episodes in this season. And the season ends with a bang. Though I must admit the big surprise they had for the end of the first season I seen coming from a mile away. Even the first time I saw the 2 part season finale when it originally aired I told my whole family what I thought (as the whole family loved this show from the start) in part one of the finale. They all thought I was nuts... but at the end of part two they all seen I was right. If you never seen this series before I definitely highly recommend it. Some of my favorite episodes from the first season...- Pilot - Lost Boys - Melinda's First Ghost - Free Fall - The One My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on November 24th, 2013) |
