Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, a review by Tom
Stars: Jennifer Hale as Cinderella (voice) Rob Paulsen as Jaq/Grand Duke/the Baker/Sir Hugh/Bert/Flower Vendor (voice) Corey Burton as Gus/Mert/Stable Hand (voice) Andre Stojka as The King (voice) Russi Taylor as Fairy Godmother/Drizella/Mary Mouse/Beatrice (voice) Extras:
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this direct-to-video sequel more than the original movie. Mainly because Cinderella gets more focus. There are three separate stories in this movie. I liked the first one. It deals with Cinderella's first few days in the castle after her honeymoon. The second story is again too much about the animals (especially one of the mice). The third story is okay again though. It is about Cinderella helping one of her stepsister getting a man.Rating: (From Tom's Cinderella/Snow White/Sleeping Beauty Movie Marathon on November 30th, 2012) Lone Star State Of Mind, a review by KinkyCyborgLone Star State Of Mind Title:Lone Star State of Mind Year: 2002 Director: David Semel Rating: PG-13 Length: 88 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1, Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai Stars: Joshua Jackson James King Matthew Davis Ryan Hurst John Mellencamp Plot: Joshua Jackson (The Skulls, TV's "Dawson's Creek") and Jamie King (Pearl Harbor) star in a hysterically rowdy look at small-town life and big-time trouble... deep in the heart of Texas. Also starring DJ Qualls (The New Guy, Road Trip), Matthew Davis (Blue Crush), Ryan Hurst (We Were Soldiers, Remember the Titans) and recording artist John Mellencamp (Falling From Grace). With a couple grand in the bank and a dream in their hearts, Earl Crest (Jackson) and his girlfriend Baby (King) plan their escape to Los Angeles from their hometown of Bennett, Texas. But a dim-witted cousin (Qualls), an ex-con and an angry drug lord threaten to derail their plans. Now, with just 48 hours to straighten things out, Earl finds himself in the middle of a mess - bigger than the entire state of Texas! Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Here's another I got of SwitchPlanet that I had little expectations from but it turned out to be a hilarious comedy about small town living. Bennett, Texas sets the scene of a young couple, Earl & Baby played by Joshua Jackson & Jamie King who dream of getting out of the dead-end town and head for Los Angeles. A series of unfortunate but uproarious events threaten to delay their departure. While this does get to be a little too silly near the end, there are many laugh out loud moments that more than make up for it. Dj Qualls & Ryan Hurst as the ex-con Tinker are comic genius as the conniving dimwits who stir up trouble for everyone. I've yet to watch a comedy with DJ Qualls that he didn't make me laugh. Ryan Hurst, whom I've never heard of, is way over the top but in all the right ways, stealing scene after scene. Some interesting bit parts for both John Cougar Mellencamp and Thomas Hayden Church as well round out a great cast. For a movie I knew little about I was pleasantly surprised as this movie will get more viewings down the road I'm sure. Stars: Tom Welling as Clark Kent Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor Eric Johnson as Whitney Fordman Sam Jones III as Pete Ross Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan My Thoughts: A couple days ago the mood hit for me to watch some Smallville again. So I pulled out the first season set. Watched the entire set in 2 days! Now does that mean I will watch the entire series again... I don't know... after all there is 10 seasons. But I did already start the second season. I must say I enjoyed revisiting the first season episodes again. The entire cast looks so young! But that is to be expected from a series that lasted so long. Chloe remains my favorite character. But they are all good. I really didn't care for the portrayal of Lex Luthor early in the series.... don't know why, just expected something different I guess. But he quickly grew on me. A very good start to an excellent series! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on July 31st, 2013) |
