Plot:
It's Halloween night, and video clerk Stan Helsing (Steve Howey of REBA) along with his sexy ex-girlfriend (Diora Baird of THE WEDDING CRASHERS and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING), his best buddy (Kenan Thompson of SNL) and an "exotic dancer/massage therapist" (Desi Lydic) - detour into a town cursed by parodies of 6 of the biggest monsters in movie history: Freddy (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), Jason (FRIDAY THE 13TH), Pinhead (HELLRAISER), Leatherface (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Chucky (CHILD'S PLAY) and Michael Myers (HALLOWEEN). But when Stan discovers that he's a direct descendant of the legendary monster hunter Van Helsing, the four have to survive a night with the monsters, homicidal hitchhikers, vampire strippers, killer karaoke, and the temptations of lots of hot chicks. Did we mention that Leslie Nielsen of AIRPLANE! and THE NAKED GUN co-stars in this hysterical horror spoof written by one of the guys who brought you SCARY MOVIE? Now take this movie to the front of the store and pay the man!

My Thoughts:

I used to be more into these spoof films then I am now. But I still enjoy one every now and then. This one is just average. It has a few decent laughs.... but for the most part it is just silly in a stupid way.

Things get out of hand for befuddled father George Banks (Martin) when his young daughter unexpectedly announces her plans to wed. Life gets even crazier in the sidesplitting sequel when his daughter and his wife (Keaton) both announce they are pregnant, and George desperately tries to capture the wild and crazy days of his youth.

Relive every heartwarming and hilarious moment in this special 2-movie collection. It's fantastic family entertainment that really delivers!

My Thoughts:

While I don't consider this sequel to be as good as the original, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. It has several good laughs in it. While the father/daughter bond is still there in this one.... not nearly as much as it was in the first. Still well worth the time put in to watch it.

Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season, a review by addicted2dvd

Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season (2005/United States)

CLARK KENT now carries a full load of classes at Central Kansas U., but that's not all he carries. He carries the full weight of his - perhaps the world's - destiny. "We call this season 'Superman in Training'," series co-creator Alfred Gough says. "Clark is going to accept his destiny." During this exciting pivotal season: The Fortress of Solitude rises. Clark faces rogue KRYPTONIANS. LEX LUTHOR launches a vicious political campaign. The FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE rises. Clark's love for LANA LANG deepens, and he and LOIS LANE remain friendly adversaries. He also crosses paths with AC (aka AQUAMAN), VICTOR STONE (aka CYBORG) and the mysterious Milton Fine (aka Brainiac). A dark tragedy - one even Clark's powers can't prevent - strikes. My Thoughts:
I finished off the 5th season last night. Another very good season. In this season we have two guest superheroes showing up. First there is Auquaman and then there is Cyborg. This season we also get the first holiday themed episodes. While it don't come out and say it... there is a Halloween episode in Thirst with a vampire sorority. And then there is also Lexmas for a Christmas episode. This is also the season we say goodbye to John Schneider as Jonathan Kent.

My Rating:
