Inside Out, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Amy Poehler as Joy (voice) Phyllis Smith as Sadness (voice) Richard Kind as Bing Bong (voice) Bill Hader as Fear (voice) Lewis Black as Anger (voice) Plot:Extras:
My Thoughts: This is a fun animated film. And I like the idea behind it. Emotions as characters in the brain... running the life you live. I lke how this shows that even sadness is an important part of life. I can see how this film could help children understand that fact. And it is all done in an entertaining way. Well worth the time put in to watch it. Recommended! Rating: (From Month Long Marathon: Best Animated Feature Film on May 7th, 2018) Ghostbusters, a review by addicted2dvdGhostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis star in this supernatural comedy classic that will have you howling! When the University downsizes the para-psychology department, Doctors Venkman (Murray), Stantz (Aykroyd) and Spengler (Ramis) make the leap from scientists to Ghostbusters, investigators and exterminators of paranormal pests! The bewitching Dana Barett (Sigourney Weaver) discovers her refrigerator has become a portal into the spiritual dimension, our heroes then come face to face with an ancient evil force with plans to raise hell in Manhattan!! My Thoughts: After my daughter just getting the new Ghostbusters Wii Game... and playing that with her for a little while... I found myself in the mood to watch this movie again. When I grabbed this DVD the realization that this movie is 25 years old now hit me... Wow! Do I feel old now! It has been a while since I seen this (6 years now)... I actually forgot how much I enjoyed this movie! This movie is full of fun and laughs. I thought everyone did a very good job in this one. And this collector's edition DVD that I watched is loaded with great extras for hours of fun. It is a great movie and great DVD release. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Anything Goes on June 19th, 2009) Charmed Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdDisc 5: "How To Make A Quilt Out Of Americans" Original Airdate: April 6, 2000 The sisters are asked by a family friend to stop a demon who steals skin from corpses, and soon learn that the woman is actually trading their powers for eternal youth and beauty. My Thoughts: A good episode... in this one you get to meet Gram's old coven... and just how much people will give up do to being elderly and sick. An elderly and sick witch tries to steal The Charmed Ones powers just to become young and healthy again. Piper... with all her love problems is sick of being a witch and is ready to call it quits. "Chick Flick" Original Airdate: April 20, 2000 The Halliwell sisters battle a demon who is bringing horror film characters to life and has called upon a knife-wielding corpse to kill them. My Thoughts: This is one of my all time favorite episodes. In this one a demon discovers he is able to go into movies and bring characters out into real life. So what does he do? He goes to horror movies. He brings out an Axe Murder from one movie... and Bloody Mary from another. Then sicks them on the sister... only problem... they are not real so can't be killed. "Ex Libris" Original Airdate: April 27, 2000 Phoebe tries to help the ghost of a former student who was killed by a demon wanting to stop the publication of the student's thesis proving the existence of evil. My Thoughts: Another episode I liked. One I liked the side story just as much (if not more) then the main storyline. This one has Cleavant Derricks (Sliders) guest starring. He is on the streets searching for a witness to the murder of his daughter. "Astral Monkey" Original Airdate: May 4, 2000 A doctor accidentally acquires the powers of all three Halliwell sisters during a blood transfusion and begins using them to harvest organs from innocent victims. My thoughts: A decent episode... but nothing really special here. Though I did like the way it picked up from the episode "Awaken". We find out what is done with the blood drawn from The Charmed Ones. (From Charmed Marathon on March 2nd, 2008) |
