Overview: Ghajini is the largest grossing Hindi Film of all time. It is the only Indian film to earn One Billion Rupees at the Box Office across India and it Grossed 4 Million US Dollars overseas within a week of it's release.

A film about a man with only 15 minutes of memory recall.  A man who was once suave, successful and had everything a man could desire.  A man who had everything he loved snatched away from him, including his identity by brutal senseless violense.  A human being who is forced to become something close to inhuman.  A story about his wounded, savage quest for revenge.  Driven by the pain of what he once was and had...

My Thoughts: A very interesting film. A Bollywood song and dance romance but with a very dark edge. The story is well told and the film's constuction helps to maintain the story with the film having two halves with two big sections forming each half. These sections are the lighter side of the film being that they are about the romance. However they are each bookended by the dark side of the film with Sanjay (Aamir Khan) dealing with his short term memory loss and its cause. Parallels can be drawn with Memento as that also deals with short term memory loss and the protagonist's, both here and there, handle it in similar ways but I would have to rewatch Memento before I can reach any real conclusions.

The Conversation, a review by Antares

The Conversation (1974) 68/100 - Nothing drives me more crazy than when a director plays the audience for a bunch of suckers, and that's exactly what Francis Ford Coppola does with The Conversation. The film starts out rather dry, but still intriguing as we are given insight into the covert world of surveillance and eavesdropping. It is here where the film really shines. But halfway through, it kind of loses steam and only comes back to life at the very end. Now I can forgive a film that lags a bit if the payoff makes up for it. But the payoff here is a bit of manipulation by Coppola that defies the laws of science. This is just a cheap way to trick the audience, and a lazy way to show that you really didn't have much of a story in the first place, so you had to resort to this kind of cheap carny trick. The minute it happened I felt as if I had just been duped by a crooked Three Card Monty dealer. I thought about giving this a much lower rating, but the first hour is rather good and of course, the sound in this film is excellent. But when all is said and done, this film for me, is not worthy of the lofty position it is given by many in the film world.

My Thoughts:
This is one of my top favorite series of all time. And this 2-part episode does a great job of introducing all the characters. Not saying to much here as I believe most people know this series. Will just say I highly recommend it.
