28 Days Later, a review by JimmyTitle : 28 Days Later (2002) OverviewMy Impression I've bought the second parts today so I've decided to rewatch this one to refresh my memory. I will not write a lot here since almost everyone had seen this film. First to close the debate about the running zombies once and for all : They are not zombies, they are infected peoples with a mutated rage virus. Their brain is alive and the only emotion they have is the violence. Did they died only with a bullet in the head? No, so they are human that seams pretty clear to me... I like the confusing feeling at the beginning and for me it was confusing the first time, since I didn't know anything about this movie. Every time the movie make me jump at the same moment (even this time and I've seen this movie at least six times before) and the first time I've almost made an heart attack after I've fell from my chair (ok I exagerate a little bit, but my heart was beating really fast). We really care about the protagonists because the director give them a substance they aren't only empty shell or filler characters, even a guy at the beginning who died fast had a backstory and we feel something when he died even if he had maybe 5 minutes of screen time. I prefer the first half of the movie, the second part is more conventional (a little bit like of Day of the Dead) and I'm not crazy about the end. And there is a beast in the walls that owns her body and soul, and now thirsts for the blood of his creators. 'Christopher Lloyd' (BACK TO THE FUTURE), 'Tyron Leitso' (HOUSE OF THE DEAD), 'Clare Grant' (WALK THE LINE) and 'Tony Todd' (CANDYMAN) star in this sexually charged shocker adapted from the story by 'Clive Barker' about doomed dreams, rotted imaginations and the horrific secret that has given life to VALERIE ON THE STAIRS. My Thoughts: This was a decent episode... but a strange one. I really didn't care much for the weird ending. I did like that it had a couple actors in it that I like... Tony Todd and Christopher Lloyd. The gore wasn't to bad in this episode. 1 scene that I would actually call gory is about all in this one. There is also a decent amount of extras on this disc as usual for the Masters of Horror releases. I haven't watched any on this disc yet... but will have to so I can see if I can get any incite into the ending. Now that Masters of Horror has been canceled I only need 3 more episodes to complete this series. Extras: Commentary Featurettes Scene Access Storyboard Comparisons My Thoughts: After watching the animated Wonder Woman movie recently, I got into the mood watching the second volume of the rebooted He-Man series, as the animation and character design in Wonder Woman reminded me of this series. I enjoyed watching it so much, that I watched all 13 episodes of this volume in two sittings. This volume (which is the second half of the first season) finishes with a great cliffhanger.
