Tangled (2001), a review by samuelrichardscott

Note for RossRoy: Current reviews are for the 2010 Disney movie, this is the 2001 movie. Can we get these listed with the year to avoid confusion? Cheers!

Tangled (2001) R2 United Kingdom

Overview:
Detective Anders has a case to solve. She's got two missing persons, Alan and Jenny. They could be hurt, they could be dying. The only person who knows for sure is their best friend David, who is badly beaten and suffering from amnesia.
As David's memory slowly returns, it becomes clear that the three friends were caught in a love triangle. Level headed David is attracted to Jenny, but Jenny has fallen for David's spontaneous and crazy best friend, Alan. Maybe Jenny's involvement with Alan was more than David could handle? Or maybe Alan and Jenny have turned on their best friend? Detective Anders must untangle a web of jealousy and deception to get to the truth.
Rachel Leigh Cook (She's All That) heads a star cast in this tangled thriller that will leave you guessing until the very end.

My Thoughts:
Your typical thriller aimed at the younger market, starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Shawn Hatosy, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Estella Warren. Director Lowi doesn't add anything new or interesting to the genre, instead opting to play everything by the numbers and keep it 'safe'. It's not a bad film but this lack of ambition certainly makes it average. The cast also turn in average performances with nothing to get excited about but at the same time nothing to complain about. Worth a cheap buy or a rental. 3/5

Overview
My thoughtsWell, what can I say about Trog? For a long time I hesitated to buy it. I knew it was bad. But in the end I couldn't resist. It's Joan Crawford's last feature film. I must say she was a trooper. There is no indication that she gave it any less than all she could. I can't say the same about Michael Gough. He can be a great character actor, but when he hams it up, he really hams it up.

Freddie Francis had his ups and downs as a director, but this is one of his lesser accomplishments, to put it kindly. The only one that I can think of that might be worse is The Deadly Bees2001: A Space Odyssey

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

The Dukes of Hazzard
The General Lee is tanked up, revving and ready. Bo Duke is at the wheel. Cousin Luke rides shotgun. And all roads lead to fun when you travel with The Dukes of Hazzard.

One-Armed Bandit
Sheriff Coltrane is hissier then a sack of rattlesnakes! He sets up a slot machine operation to fund his election, but a pair of two-armed bandits - Bo and Luke - find a way to give tha proceeds to charity.

My Thoughts:
While this is one of my favorite shows from when I was a Kid... It took a while for the show to get going. I for one never cared too much for the first season. At this point the characters were not yet set in the way they will be. Especially Cooter who is played more crazy and dumber then he is in the following seasons. But it is still an enjoyable show. Best thing about the pilot episode? Daisy in that bikini of course!  :drooling:

My Rating:
