My Thoughts: This is the TV Movie that started the series. Going into this show I really didn't know what to expect. I mean I really like pretty much anything to do with Vampires... but at the same time it is a Disney Channel show. And they can be geared towards a much younger crowd.... if not the entire family. Though I must say that over-all I enjoyed the movie... and now looking forward to watching the series. Sure it is geared towards a younger crowd. Mainly pre-teens and lower teen years. But I was still able to enjoy it. And they did the vampire deaths pretty good.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on May 7th, 2013) Old School, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Luke Wilson as Mitch Will Ferrell as Frank Vince Vaughn as Beanie Jeremy Piven as Pritchard Ellen Pompeo as Nicole Juliette Lewis as Heidi Plot: Get ready for the UNRATED and OUT-OF-CONTROL version of Old School that you couldn't see in theaters! What's a guy supposed to do when he catches the early flight home and finds his girlfriend in a bed with a room full of naked strangers? Return to college and start a fraternity! Before you can say "wild and wet wrestling," Frank "The Tank" (Will Ferrell, Saturday Night Live); Mitch (Luke Wilson, Legally Blonde) and Beanie (Vince Vaughn, Swingers) have their own frat raging with out-of-control antics. But when things get too wild, the dean sets out to shut them down. The laughs are top of the class (even if the guys aren't!) in the hit comedy from director Todd Phillips (Road Trip). Extras:
My Thoughts: This is the first time I have seen this movie. It is a movie that was given to me in a big box of DVDs recently. It is however the full Screen version. But that is ok... I can always upgrade if I see it for a decent price. There were a few familiar faces of people I know from different TV Series in this movie. There was Elisha Cuthbert (24... Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy)... and there was Leah Remini (King of Queens)... all of whom I enjoy. As for the movie itself. What did I think.... hmmmmm.... It's not a bad movie... but it did feel like something was lacking. I found it entertaining... but no real laugh out loud moments. I would say it is worth watching... and I can even see myself watching it again at some time. But not one I will be popping in very often. Pretty much just an average comedy. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From TV Stars in the Movies: On-Going Mega Marathon on July 3rd, 2011) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: In the fall of 1986, an unsuspecting TV nation met a new kind of comedy hero who made Rambo look like Pee Wee Herman. David Rasche starred as the trigger-happy lawman whose hatred of criminal scum and yogurt eatin' creeps was matched only by his love of excessive force and a .44 Magnum. Over the next two seasons, this hilariously deranged lampoon of DIRTY HARRY and plenty of other targets became one of the most notorious series in television history and launched a rabid cult of fans that grows to this day. This is SLEDGE HAMMER! The complete first season of SLEDGE HAMMER! is now newly re-mastered (including removal of the laugh track) and loaded with an arsenal of exclusive extras that features uncensored footage, all-new interviews with stars David Rasche, Harrison Page and Anne-Marie Martin, audio commentaries and more, all given the "Hammer" seal of approval by Series Creator & Executive Producer Alan Spencer. Sledge Hammer! 1.01 Pilot: Under the Gun Writer: Alan Spencer (Writer) Director: Martha Coolidge Cast: David Rasche (Sledge Hammer), Anne-Marie Martin (Dori Doreau), Harrison Page (Captain Trunk), Leslie Morris (Officer Majoy), Joe Under (Short Guy), Larry Wilmore (Cottage Cheese Clodman), Jesse Aragon (Felix Navidad), D. W. Brown (Luxley), Joanne Baron (Janice Flambo), Don Stark (Kruggle), John Lawlor (Reisner), Judie Aronson (Francine Flambo), John Vernon (Mayor Jack Flambo) I really enjoyed this series when I first seen it on TV. I still like it. It's a Dirty Harry parody. I still have to think of Sledge Hammer when I see David Rasche in something. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on July 5th, 2012) |
