The Flintstones, a review by addicted2dvd

The Flintstones
1994's 'The Flintstones' brought the modern Stone Age family - immortalized in the first animated series to prime-time history to the live-action big screen.

After an aptitude test mix-up, Fred Flinstone (John Goodman) trades his job as Slate & Company Bronto-crane operator for a vice presidency. But thers's trouble brewing in Bedrock. An evil executive (Kyle MacLachlan) and his sinister secretary (Halle Berry) are now plotting to use Fred as the fall guy in an embezzlement scheme.

Rick Moranis (Barney Rubble), Rosie O'Donnell (Betty Rubble), Elizabeth Perkins (Wilma Flintstone) and Elizabeth Taylor co-star in a Steven Spielrock production filles with classic sight gags, dino-sized production values and sensational special effects.

My Thoughts:
After the last several I watched I felt like watching something more light-hearted this time around. Something I could just sit back and enjoy... without putting any thought into it what so ever. Even though It is a no-brainer watch... that can be fun... I do find it more then a little silly. Not saying that is a bad thing. Just makes it so you have to be in the mood for it to really enjoy it. I do think John Goodman as Fred and Rick Moranis as Barney is good casting.

My Thoughts:
I just finished watching this movie. Going into it I must admit that I was a little concerned as I never read the comics. I only ever seen the previous movies and some of the animated series from a few years back. So most of the mutants in this movie I wasn't familiar with. And it was right strange for me to see Professor X both young and with hair as well as walking. I was also surprised at the type of relationship Professor X shared with Mystique. Though obviously I don't know if that is the way it was in the comics as well or not. So going strictly by what I know from the previous movies and somewhat on the animated series I found I really enjoyed this... (what is this btw, a prequel? a reboot of the films? I guess that depends on how well this film did) I found I really enjoyed this film. It has a good story that kept my interest... some fun new mutants to watch... as well as some good action. I would recommend this film.

A good episode. I love the scene, where Ray and Fraser have a conversation with each other without being in the same room. It's a throwback to an earlier episode. This shows how well they know each other and can tell exactly what the other would be saying to them. I also find it nice that they have some small moments between Fraser and Thatcher showing us, that their "contact" on the train is not entirely forgotten.
