(From Reviews and ramblings by Gunnar on December 31st, 2014) Ice Station Zebra, a review by AntaresIce Station Zebra (1968) 68/100 - Not bad for a cold war espionage drama, but it could have been better had they tightened up some sections of the film. Way too much time is spent on the sub getting to the polar station, and it is here where the film tends to lag. The story itself is chock full of nail biting tension and the cast do an excellent job in portraying their roles. I've never been a fan of Rock Hudson, but he too, plays it realistically. Shear away about 35 minutes of the submarine action early in the film, and you might have had a classic. What the color coding means... Teal = Masterpiece Dark Green = Classic or someday will be Lime Green = A good, entertaining film Orange = Average Red = Cinemuck Brown = The color of crap, which this film is (From Antares' Short Summations on July 28th, 2012) Tom's TV Finales marathon, a review by Tom

Bachmann (Charlie), Robert Lee (Man #2), Inger Jackson (Woman #2) I have now finished this series and I have to admit, that I enjoyed it more than expected. I enjoyed all seven seasons and never got bored with it. I had feared that the series will end on a cliffhanger, because I had read that fans are not happy with the finale and that there was trouble with the network and the series got cancelled earlier than planned. But I have to say, that I am satisfied with the way that the series ended. (click to show/hide) Rating: (From Tom's TV Finales marathon on November 2nd, 2013) |
