Plot:
Tom Cruise stars in this spectacular version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed deep beneath the desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day. Her malevolence has grown over millennia and with it come terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sands of the Middle East through modern-day London. The Mummy balances wonder, thrills and imagination.

This film is a good combination of action and horror. It is not the greatest I seen of it's type... but well worth the time put in to watch it. I never been a huge fan of Tom Cruise... but he has grown on me over the past few years. I am not really familiar with the actress but I liked the woman that played Ahmanet. I also liked how they left the ending open for a possible franchise.

The Station Agent, a review by Kathy

Synopsis:

Winner of 2003 Sundance Film Festival awards, 'The Station Agent' stars Emmy Award winner Patricia Clarkson (TV's 'Six Feet Under', 'Far From Heaven'), Peter Dinklage ('Elf') and Bobby Cannavale (TV's '24', 'Third Watch') in a comedy about friendship that will have you smiling long after the final credits. Fin McBride (Dinklage), a loner with a passion for trains, inherits an abandoned train station in the middle of nowhere - a place that suits him just fine because all he wants is to be alone. But that is not to be. Soon after moving in, he discovers his isolated depot is more like Grand Central Station. There's Olivia (Clarkson), a distracted and troubled artist, and Joe (Cannavale), a friendly Cuban with an insatiable hunger for conversation. With absolutely nothing in common, they find their isolated lives coming together in a friendship none of them could foresee.

My thoughts:

I really enjoyed this movie. I hadn't heard anything about it before getting it so it was a very pleasant surprise. The 3 main actor's are terrific; they are funny, touching and a pleasure to watch. The supporting cast was just as strong and included Michelle Williams, Paul Benjamin, Richard Kine to name a few.

The writer/director is Tom McCarthy; I looked him up on DVDP to see if he had directed anything else I owned but he hadn't. He was listed as a Supervising Sound Editor on several of my DVDs. I plan on keeping an eye on him because I really enjoy what he brought to this film.

While I still enjoyed this season very much over-all... it has my least favorite storyline of the entire series. That being the Veritas storyline. The episodes dealing with Veritas just didn't hold my interest as much as any of the other episodes. This season does introduce Kara/Supergirl. As for guest stars I am familiar with for this season. There was Dean Cain who played Clark Kent/Superman himself in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.  James Marsters returns in several episodes as Brainiac. This season we also see the long gone  Sam Jones III (Pete Ross) back for a single episode. Gina Holden (Blood Ties) shows up for a single episode as well.

The seventh season aired in 2007. Which is the year of the writer's strike. But we seemed to get lucky for this series... and didn't lose out on too many episodes this time. As this season still has 20 episodes. So I am thankful for that.
