Plot:

After a young, middle-class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially while they sleep.

Paranormal Activity builds suspense night after night all the way to the shocking ending. Roger Ebert calls it "truly scary."** Go ahead, WE DARE YOU TO WATCH IT AT HOME...at least you can leave the lights on.

My Thoughts:
This is the second time I watched this one since buying it earlier this year. I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. Before I bought this movie all I heard about it is how scary it is. Not surprisingly it didn't scare me at all. Maybe a slight chill in one or 2 scenes... possibly 1 or 2 jump scenes... but actual scares... not at all. But as I have said before... I haven't been scared by a horror movie in many... MANY years. But even so... I enjoyed the movie.  After watching both endings... I can't decide which ending I prefer. Both versions had their good points. Any time I watch this  again I will have trouble deciding which version I will want to watch.

Celebration at Big Sur, a review by Antares

Celebration at Big Sur (1971) 2.5/5 - Up until the last year or so, I never understood the fascination with YouTube. I don't know if either they changed their policy towards copywritten material or if the people who own the rights to films have just given up trying to stop people from uploading. In the last few months I've been able to find long forgotten films on this website, and now I find myself spending most of my computer time, scouring the site in search of rare gems from my youth. Celebration at Big Sur was a little indie documentary made on a shoestring budget back in 1969. It chronicles the sixth annual Big Sur Folk Festival, which took place just one month after the famous concert at Woodstock. Whereas that famous documentary was shot with multiple cameras and employed some unique editing techniques in the final product, this film is more or less a wanna be to its successful predecessor. The music acts are not as stellar as the show at Yasgur's farm, with the exception of Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills Nash & Young. The headliner at this show was Joan Baez, long one of my least favorite folk singers. You get a lot of anti-war songs from her and they are interspersed with a heaping dose of flower power ramblings from some very stoned concert goers. With the exception of Joni Mitchell debuting her acoustic version of what would become CSN&Y's hit song Woodstock, and the latter's short segment on stage, the music and the performances are pretty stale.

Plot:

When this first season was on sale, I finally took the chance to check this series out. For me it was very much like taking Chloe (my favorite character from Smallville) and giving her her own series. Veronica is very similar to her in my opinion.
I liked this season. Though I liked it from the start, I am not sure if I would have stayed with it if I would have started watching it while it originally aired. But watching all episodes in a row it constantly kept my interest.
But it was only towards the end it really sucked me in. But what a damn cliffhanger the last scene is! I wanted to wait with buying the second season until a later point, but now I am not sure if I can wait. But I will probably be disappointed with the resolution to this scene.

This series has also interesting choices of guest-stars. Although I was put off when Paris Hilton guest-starred in the second episode, there were other appearences which were more fun. Like Alyson Hannigan, of course. Also funny, that we got two Jimmy Olsens in one episode (Smallville's Jimmy and Superman Returns' Jimmy).
Sadly they missed themselves by one episode, but we almost had a reunion with Home Improvement's Brad and Randy.
From the regulars I have only known Kristen Bell (from "Heroes" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall") and Enrico Colantoni (from "Just Shoot Me!" and "Galaxy Quest").

A storyline which I hope they will follow up on in the second season is Mac and her real family.
