Rating: NR
Length: 1h26
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1

Plot:
A dedicated student at a medical college and his girlfriend become involved in bizarre experiments centering around the re-animation of dead tissue when an odd new student arrives on campus.

My Thoughts:
No need to say a lot about the film since it's a classic... perfect cast chemistry, excellent special effects, a very catchy and recognizable theme by Richard Band and a perfect mix of horror and comedy.

Highly recommanded and if you have never seen it what are you waiting for?

The New Guy, a review by Tom

Title: The New Guy
Year: 2002
Director: Ed Decter
Rating: PG-13
Length: 88 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85, Pan & Scan 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround
Subtitles: English, French

Stars:
DJ Qualls
Eliza Dushku
Zooey Deschanel
Jerod Mixon

Plot:
THE NEW GUY is a fresh and wildly hilarious comedy starring DJ Qualls (Road Trip), Eliza Dushku (Bring It On), Zooey Deschanel (Almost Famous), Lyle Lovett (The Opposite of Sex) and Eddie Griffin (Undercover Brother). Ed Decter, co-writer of the comedy hit There's Something About Mary, makes his directorial debut in the laugh-out-loud funniest comedy of the year!

Terminally nerdy Dizzy Harrison (Qualls) is routinely laughed at, ridiculed and picked on. His senior year is nothing but an exercise in pain and torture. So Dizzy decides to change his luck. After purposely getting expelled from school, he enrolls in a rival high school with a new look, a new story and a completely new attitude. Now, the former dud becomes a major stud and finds himself the big man on campus - complete with girls, popularity and more girls! But when his past resurfaces and threatens to expose the real Dizzy, he must rise to the occasion to show the world exactly what he's all about!

My Thoughts:
I haven't watched this one in a long while. It is in my collection because of Eliza Dushku. Even though it somewhat fun movie and has a nice premise, I remembered it being a little better. Eliza Dushku's role is rather small. I would preferred to have seen a little more of her. Though we saw her in various Bikini models in one montage scene which is totally unrelated to the plot.
But it was very nice to see Zooey Deschanel here.

     Kujibiki Unbalance: The Collection (2006/Japan)

Anime Works (United States)
Length:375 min.
Video:Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, Japanese: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Subtitles:Commentary, English

Plot:
Chihiro has always had rotten luck in life. But at the prestigious Rikkyouin Academy, where everything is decided by drawn lot, or kujibiki, he finds his luck changing when he draws the lot for student council president. He and his harem of student council candidates undergo a year-long, impossible apprenticeship under the current ruling body, which happens to be led by one of Chihiro's childhood friends. The road to success is filled with zany misadventures, innocent romances, and a wild humor that is sure to please.

Each disc includes an episode of Genshiken!

Kujibiki Unbalance

Writer: Shimoku Kio (Original Material By), Michiko Yokote (Screenwriter)
Director: Tsutomu Mizushima
Cast: Fujiko Takimoto (Chihiro Enomoto (voice)), Ai Nonaka (Tokino Akiyama (voice)), Ami Koshimizu (Ritsuko K Kettenkrad (voice)), Kumiko Nishihara (Renko Kamishakujii (voice)), Kazuko Kojima (Koyuki Asagiri (voice)), Yukana (Kasumi Kisaragi (voice)), Reiko Takagi (Risa Humvee (voice)), Masayo Kurata (Komaki Asagiri (voice)), Yuko Goto (Kaoruko Yamada (voice)), Yuko Sasamoto (Shinobu Enomoto (voice)), Kayo Sakata (Kujibiki Commission Chairwoman (voice)), Eri Nakao (Kujibiki Commission Member (voice)), Nobuyuki Hiyama (Harunobu Madarame (voice, uncredited)), Kaori Mizuhashi (Chika Ogiue (voice, uncredited))

Kujibiki Unbalance was originally a show-within-a-show on Genshiken. A really over-the-top one at that. Then they made a real anime out of it. Though this is more like an reimagining. Strangely, it would probably have been better, if they made a straight-forward adaption of it.
I mainly bought this this, because it includes bonus episodes for Genshiken, which bridge the first and second season of that series.
