Moonraker, a review by Rich

Moonraker

Agent 007 blasts into orbit in this action-packed adventure that takes him to Venice, Rio de Janeiro and outer space. When Bond investigates the hijacking of an American space shuttle, he and beautiful CIA agent Holly Goodhead are soon locked in a life-or-death struggle against Hugo Drax, a power-mad industrialist whose horrific scheme may destroy all human life on earth!

Clumsy special effects, disappointing storyline, and Moore possibly his worst as Bond. Drax (Lonsdale) was not a good villain in my opinion, but the return of Jaws (and speaking!) was a highlight.
The settings were pretty spectacular all round, Venice and Brazil standing out, but must of eaten in to the huge budget considerably. There are action spectaculars within the film, the girls of course are beautiful (how do they get away with calling one Holly Goodhead??) especially gorgeous was Corinne Clery, and the opening halo descent was amazing.
But it is all a bit too tongue in cheek - Star Wars in mind - tick the boxes - for my liking, so I would only go as far as saying this 007 was just above average.

My Thoughts:
Just finished this one. I definitely prefer the original over this remake. Don't get me wrong... it has it's moments to make it entertaining enough to watch... but leaves a lot to be desired. There is a scene or two that is overly gross when it doesn't have to be. Some of the special effects are not very convincing... and don't get me wrong... I am no prude. I like seeing a naked girl as much as the next straight guy... but this one had nude scenes to the point that it pretty much got boring. Look another topless woman... yawn. So... I would say if you can watch this one for free... go for it... why not? But it is not one would really recommend. It is no more then average... maybe slightly below average in my opinion.

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

15. I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU...
Lois and Clark get married! Just a minute, Clark. Are you sure your beautiful bride really is Lois?

My Thoughts:
This is the start of the clones/frogs storyline. Which is one of the storylines I never cared for too much. I know they were just trying to throw more problems in front of Lois and Clark's wedding... but I just found this storyline silly. Though I did like Brad Garret as Lois and Clark's wannabe comedian priest.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

16. DOUBLE JEOPARDY
Send in the clones. While LEX LUTHOR woos the real Lois, Clark spends his wedding night with her clone.

My Thoughts:
Part 2 of the above episode. And added to the clone storyline we get the amnesia storyline. Which I also never cared much for. All these never ending problems is the reason this season is my least favorite of the series.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
