Stars: Dick Foran as Steve Banning Peggy Moran as Marta Solvani, Stage Name of Marta Sull Wallace Ford as Babe Jenson Eduardo Ciannelli [Eduardo Cianelli] as The High Priest George Zucco as Professor Andoheb, High Priest of Karna Cecil Kellaway as The Great Solvani, Stage Name of Tim Su Plot: In this chilling follow-up to the original classic, a magician (Cecil Kellaway) and his beautiful daughter (Peggy Moran) finance an expedition of American Archaeologists, led by Steve Banning (Dick Foran) and Babe Jenson (Wallace Ford). The team travels to Egypt in search of an undiscovered tomb. At first, they are thrilled to find a 3,000-year-old mummy. But soon they learn that when the moon is full the mummy goes on murderous rampages - unless they can find a way to destroy their greatest find. Extras:
My Thoughts: This one I never seen before. I may get some flack for this... but I actually enjoyed this one more then the original. I have found I still enjoy the other Universal monsters more then I do the Mummy. But I still enjoying these movies as well. This time the Mummy is played by Tom Tyler who I have in a couple of my favorite movie serials.... The Adventures of Captain Marvel and The Phantom. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Black & White on June 24th, 2011) Pulse, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Pulse (1988) Movie Count: 15 TV Ep Count: 3 Other Count: 0 Time Started: 7:50am Plot: In today's world of modern conveniences, everything we rely on is run by electricity. But what happens if the power we take for granted turns against us? Old man Holger (Charles Tyner) knows. He claims electricity is a living presence, whose voice can only be silenced by getting rid of anything that can hear it. Bill Rockland (Cliff De Young), however, refuses to believe him. It must have been an accident when an electric spark ruptured the gas pipe that nearly killed Bill's son (Joey Lawrence). And it's surely a coincidence when Bill's wife (Roxanne Hart) is severely scalded by their electric water heater. But when his own power tools attack him and an electrical fire turns their home into a blazing inferno, Bill realizes Holger may have been right after all, and perhaps the time has come to finally pull the plug. My Thoughts: This is another one I never seen before... but it was cheap and sounded interesting so I decided to take a chance on it. Unfortunately this one is not all that impressive. I mean it has it's moments...but they are few and far between. The movie is slow and I just couldn't get myself to care about the characters. Then there is the fact that the acting itself leaves some to be desired at times. The dvd itself is ok at best as well. The audio and video is fine though some grain in the video... as for extras all you get is a selection of trailers. This is not a DVD I see myself watching much... if I decide to watch it again. My Rating: (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 4th, 2008) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete Second Season marathon, a review by Achim22. BORN TO RUN The Connors come face-to-face with Weaver in a confrontation that shakes John to the core and changes his fate forever. My Comments: I didn't see any of this coming. Some of it was hinted at, probably more than once. Also a big surprise was how little action there was. I enjoyed every second of this episode (except for the very last one, actually), a perfect blend of character moments, emotion, action, funny moments. An excellent finish, which ends the series properly and makes good sense; although it had me think to get most details of it. ...I obviously struggle to write about this one as I feel anything could be a spoiler and all of it deserves to be experienced fresh when viewed for the first time. (Yes, we spoiled most other episodes, but somehow for this one it feels different.) (From Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete Second Season marathon on March 5th, 2010) |
