Plot:
Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy co-star in this high-tech comedy adventure about Number Five, a robot who escapes into the real world after he short-circuits in an electrical storm and decides that he's human. Because he's carrying destructive weapons, the Defense Department and his designer (Guttenberg) are desperate to find him. But Number Five is being protected by a young woman (Sheedy) who is teaching him a gentler way of life.

My Thoughts:
This is a movie I haven't seen in many years! So much so that going into it all I could remember is brief bits and pieces of the movie. I am so thrilled I finally added to this one to my collection. It is still a lot of fun. And I must admit... Johnny Five was right about one thing... Ally Sheedy... Nice Software!  The movie definitely held up great for me. There was several times I literally laughed out loud. Unfortunately the DVD Release leaves some to be desired. It could be worse.... at least it is in widescreen... but there is absolutely no extras on this what so ever. Not even trailers for other movies let alone a trailer for this. Which makes me very upset considering I just got this and I now find out there is indeed a special Edition out for this movie for only a few dollars more then what I paid for this one!

24: Redemption, a review by DJ Doena

Because the seventh season of 24 is about to start (my Sunbird tells me: Sunday) I decided to watch the "bridge movie".


Synopsis: The following takes place between 3 pm and 5 pm. All events occur in real time. More than a year has passed since the events of the sixth day of Jack Bauer. Now he's somehwere in Africa and he hides from the grasp of the US justice department. They try  to subpoena him to a hearing because he's tortured a man.
But he can't even hide in Africa and it gets worse. A local warlord has built an army of children to putsch against the democratic government. The american embassy evacuates all american citizens and Jack tries to help an old special forces comrade to rescue a group of children.

My Opinion: The movie is not outstanding but still ok and in the typical "24" style. It's also nice to see Jack outside of L.A. even though he doesn't behave that differently. But they made a number of interesting hints that Washington hasn't changed at all and that intrigue and schemes will have their share of the seventh day.

My Name Is Earl: Season 2
Doing the right thing isn't always easy. Just ask Earl Hickey (Jason Lee), a recovering ne'er-do-well with a lifetime's worth of dirty deeds to make up for. In order to turn his life around, Earl needs a G.E.D., a job, an apartment, and a whole lot of good karma. And, if he can keep his ex-wife out of prison, so much the better! Join Earl and his gang of lovable losers as he continues his wildly offbeat transformation from hood to good in the uproarious and outrageous Season Two of 'My Name is Earl'...It's not always politically correct, but it's always hilarious!

My thoughts:
Another series where I have enjoyed each episode so far! I love the editing style of this series how they interweave all the flashbacks with the story. Starring Jason Lee, known to me mainly from Kevin Smith movies, Jaime Pressly and the great Ethan Suplee. And surprisingly many well-known faces as guest stars like Roseanne, Burt Reynolds, Christian Slater, DJ Qualls. It's great how they can have these stars and it never feels like they are out of place and forced into the story.
Also we have some unusual episodes like the one, where they have a "Cops" episode all around these characters or the one, in which we see these characters as stop motion animated puppets 
I also loved the "My Name Is Randy" interludes.
