Live and Let Die, a review by Dragonfire

This one is ok, but it isn't great.  I seem to remember liking it more than I did when I watched it this time.  I did like Roger Moore as Bond - even though he was extremely manipulative with Solitaire - and I liked Jayne Seymour.  The plot was all right, but nothing great.  I could have done without the snakes.  There was some decent action, though several scenes did seem to drag on too long.  That sheriff that turned up late in the movie was a buffoon and added absolutely nothing to what was going on.  The music was good and I was glad that the movie didn't use the one piece of music during the action scenes that has been used in so many of the previous movies - I got tired of hearing it all the time.

Overall, I thought the movie was entertaining, but it was just average.

 :-\

I still have to watch the extras on my DVD and then I'll work on a longer review to post at Epinions.

They Call Me Trinity, a review by DJ Doena

April, 10th

Synopsis: Trinity comes into a small town where he meets his brother Bambino again. Bambino is the Sheriff there after he accidentally shot the real Sheriff (i.e. he thought the Sheriff was pursuing him, but he wasn't). Trinity takes the role of the Deputy Sheriff and together they help a group of Mormon settlers who have trouble with a man who wants their land for his horses.

My Opinion: Except for the early movies, Bud Spencer & Terrence Hill movies are always harmless fun. They are childhood favourites of mine and have a certain cult status here in Germany. This is mostly due to a very unique dubbing of these movies but I still enjoy them very much and I own pretty much all of them.

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

24

What's the show about?
Jack Bauer works for the CTU, the Counter Terrorist Unit. He saves the United States more than once but he has only 24 hours to do so and not a minute more. And for this job he has to sacrifice everything: his family life, his health, his career and even his life.

"12:00a.m. - 01:00a.m."
Today is the day of the California presidential primary. Jack Bauer's unit has to prevent an attack on the black senator Palmer, a likely candidate for becoming the next president of the United States. Meanwhile Jack's daughter has sneaked out of the house and has disappeared.

My Opinion
24 is a great show even if the stories have become absurd lateley. They are fast running out of threats they didn't fight before. After watching the trailer of the seventh season I had the feeling it will be a mix of Die Hard 2 and 4, but I am willing to tune in. ;)
