My Thoughts: This is like my third time seeing this film. The original is one of my favorite vampire movies... and this remake is pretty good. I enjoyed it. They leave enough of it the same to pay homage to the original... while changing it enough to make it it's own film. I think Collin Ferrell did a good job of portraying Jerry (the vampire). The one playing Charlie looked familiar but I just couldn't place him. Turns out he played Chekov in Star Trek. The one thing I didn't care for is how they re-did Peter Vincent... making him a Criss Angel wannabe. That character just bugged me in this one. Over-all a decent remake. It is one I would recommend. My Rating:Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2DVD's Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon on October 8th, 2013)

Of course I knew about this movie, but I never considered watching it because I wasn't really keen on watching Dustin Hoffman in drag. But after the recommendation and reading the synopsis I found that this movie could be interesting to me after all. Dustin Hoffman did a great job as Dorothy. Whenever he was on screen as Dorothy, it was real fun to watch. Also I was surprised to see Bill Murray. I didn't know beforehand that he was in this picture. I am also glad that Dustin Hoffman convinced the director Sydney Pollack to play the role of the agent. These two were great together. Teri Garr reminded me a lot of Phoebe from Friends. It's a stroke of genius of the producers of Friends to cast her as Phoebe's mother, I think. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on August 9th, 2010)
Blood Ties Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdBlood Ties: Season 1 1.-2.Blood Prince Parts 1 & 2Part 1 When ex-cop turned private investigator, Vicki Nelson, happens upon the scene of a terrifying murder, she's hired by the victim's girlfriend to prove that her boyfriend was killed by a vampire. As Vicki pursues the investigation further, she crosses paths with someone else investigating the case fir his own reasons.
Part 2 Vicki finds that her most dangerous mission might be to sort out her romantic feelings for her ex-partner on the force, Mike Celluci, and for her new partner, the dashing vampire, Henry Fitzroy. My Thoughts:This is a show I bought blind this past month for my horror marathon. This is the first chance I got to watch any of it. I enjoyed the 2 part pilot... I am just trying to decide how much. It definitely could be better... but at the same time it is a pretty good introduction to the characters. I have a feeling it will grow on me more as I watch the episodes.
