Burn After Reading, a review by Rich

Burn After Reading

An all-star cast, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich, come together in this outrageous spy comedy about murder, blackmail, sex addiction and physical fitness!

When a disc filled with some of the CIA's most irrelevant secrets gets in the hands of two determined, but dim-witted, gym employees, the duo are intent on exploiting their find. But since blackmail is a trade better left for the experts, events soon spiral out of everyone's and anyone's control, resulting in a non-stop series of hilarious encounters! From Joel and Ethan Coen, the Academy Award winning directors of No Country For Old Men and The Big Lebowski, comes this brilliantly clever and endlessly entertaining movie that critics are calling smart, funny, and original.

Quirky film, like Fargo you are engrossed all the way through and chuckling constantly, caught by surprises often, and look at each other afterwards and say 'WTF was that!'
Such a massive web of deceit, betrayal, infidelity and lies, it is hard to see for an hour how this will all fall together. It suffers from a very stodgy start, but after half an hour you daren't look away. The best comparison I can give is that BAF is a mix between Fargo violence and Big Lebowski humour. All of the actors shine, but Frances McDormand steals it for me as an exceptional performance.
This is a smart comedy, and potentially a cult film in the future. Very enjoyable  ;D

My Thoughts:
This TV movie serves as the pilot of the series. They are some changes between this one and the series. Some of the cast changed and also some of the characters behaved a little different than we are used to in the series. I think it was a good choice to replace the doctor. I never liked the acting of the one in the pilot. As for the replacement of Takashima with Ivanova: I love Ivanova and Takashima was a little wooden here. But you never know. She could have worked out also.

Ghost Whisperer Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Disc 6:

21. FREE FALL
The spirits of a pilot and flight attendant contact Melinda. She experiences a sense of dread over the possibility of a plane crash.

My Thoughts:
This is the first part of the season finale... not to mention a great episode. I enjoyed every second of it. Even though they tried well enough to cover it up... I remember the first time I saw this episode... I instantly knew the twist. Which kinda sucked since I hated to see that situation happen.

22. THE ONE
After a jetliner crashes Melinda faces the overwhelming task of helping hundreds of passengers cross over. "Wide Brim Hat Man" is working against her. She must work with the crash investigators who try to find out how she knew the plane was going to crash.

My Thoughts:
This is a great ending to the first season.... naturally this takes over right where the last episode left off. Through-out this episode they hinted at the big twist I mentioned in the last episode... then at the end of the episode they revealed it.I whole time I first watched this episode I kept telling myself I knew I was right.

Season One Over-All Thoughts:
This is a really great show that had me hooked since the very first episode. This show made me a fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt. I knew of her before this show... but was never that much impressed with her till I saw her in this role. Know I think she is really good. They did a good job on this release as well. I love the packaging... 3 Thinkpak cases with 2 discs in each in a slip case. The way boxsets should be done! Plus they give you a nice selection of extras as well.
