OverviewOn a nonstop quest for justice that crisscrosses the globe, Bond meets the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), who leads him to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless businessman and major force within the mysterious Quantum organisation. When Bond uncovers a conspiracy to take control of one of the world's most important natural resources, he must navigate minefield of treachery, deception and murder to neutralise Quantum before it's too late!
My thoughtsBond marathon #22

Who?
What?
Why?
Where?
How?
Those are the lingering impressions of Quantum of Solace. It's a directorial and editorial mess. And the screenplay doesn't seem to be much to boast about, although it's not easy to tell given how the director has screwed it up.

The best thing I can say about this film is that it is the shortest of all Bond movies. And still it feels too long. After the excellent Casino Royale this is a terrible letdown. In my opinion easily the worst Bond movie. And that's saying something, given how little regard I have for some of the Moore movies, especially Moonraker.

Fortunately things became better with Skyfall, and hopefully Bond #24, Spectre, won't be anything like this mess.

My Bollywood Bride, a review by Tom

Title: My Bollywood Bride
Year: 2005
Director: Rajeev Manoj Virani
Rating: 12
Length: 92 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85
Audio: English: Dolby Digital Surround
Subtitles: English

Stars:
Jason Lewis
Kashmira Shah
Sanjay Suri
Neha Dubey
Gulshan Grover

Plot:
When Alex (Sex and the City's Jason Lewis) and Reena (Bollywood star Kashmera Shah) meet by chance in LA, sparks fly and romance is definitely on the cards. Torn between her blossoming feelings for Alex and her Indian family values and obligations., Reena returns home without saying goodbye. Inspired by her words to 'follow your dreams', Alex decides to follow her to Mumbai and win her back. But Alex's quest is hindered by the fact that Reena has kept something very important about herself from him; she's the hottest film star in Bollywood! However, with help of a rambunctious rickshaw driver and a few of Reena's friends, Alex might just have a chance at winning her back and following his dreams.

In this fish out of water romantic comedy, Jason Lewis finds sex in a totally different city!

My Thoughts:
The story itself, though very simple and unoriginal, could have made a fun little movie. Bad acting all-around and amateurish sound mixing makes this movie very bad though.
The only watchable thing in this movie is the supporting actress Neha Dubey. I see that I got the chance to see her in another (hopefully better) movie I have bought at the same time: "Monsoon Wedding".

Calling all Scruffy Nerd-Herders!

Welcome to the Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture

It is Sasahara's first day of college and a fateful choice awaits him: which college clubs will he chose to join? But Sasahara is no ordinary young man - a dark secret lurks within his soul. For one thing, he knows what "cosplay" is, how to unlock all the secret characters in "Guilty Gear X," what the plot twist is in episode twenty-five of "Kujibiki Unbalance" because he's read the manga, he's heard of doujinshi, and he needs to know more. Enter Genshiken, the barely legitimized Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, home to all subspecies of Otaku!

Now Otaku can watch this complete series from the safety of their own basements!!

Contains all 12 episodes of Genshiken plus 3 episodes of Kubijiki Unbalance.

Extras:
Bonus OVA: Kubijiki Unbalance
Featurettes
Interviews
Music Videos
Production Notes
Scene Access

My Thoughts:
Great adaption of the first few volumes of the manga. I also like the music from the opener.

Cannot wait to see further episodes (3 OVAs and a second season already exists) which will introduce my favorite character from the manga.

As a bonus there are three full episodes of the fictional anime series the characters in Genshiken like to watch.
