Star Trek: Generations, a review by addicted2dvdStar Trek: Generations Stardate: the 23rd Century. Retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Montgomery Scott (James Doohan) and Pavel Checkov (Walter Koenig) are guests of honor aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. A test run takes an unexpected turn, however when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk is swept out into space. Seven decades later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue an El Aurian physicist named Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran harbors a deadly plan that includes the destruction of the Enterprise and millions of lives. Now Picard's only hope for a future rests within the Nexus...and a legendary captain from the past. Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spinder, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis and Gates McFadden costar in this "cosmic hit that all generations will love." (Pat Collins, WWOR-TV) My Thoughts: I always been a fan of Star Trek... much more so then Star Wars even though that series of movies is good as well. Unfortunately I do not have much in my collection from the Star Trek franchise (only movies 7-10 and a few vol. of the original TV Series as well as 2 seasons of TNG [Damn expensive boxsets!] ). I enjoyed this movie... even though I wouldn't say it is the best Star Trek movie out there.... it is still fun. I actually enjoyed watching the 2 Enterprise crews in the same movie. But there is some things I didn't like about it also. I especially didn't like Data's emotions chip. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfBbpyiK7ds (From Weekend Movie Marathon: 3/20 - 3/22 on March 21st, 2009) North to Alaska, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:North to Alaska Year: 1960 Director: Henry Hathaway Rating: NR Length: 122 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 4.0, French: Dolby Digital: Mono, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: John Wayne Stewart Granger Ernie Kovacs Fabian Capucine Plot: John Wayne and Stewart Granger strike it rich in this rousing comedy-adventure set in the heyday of the Alaskan gold rush. When prospectors Sam McCord (Wayne) and George Pratt (Granger) hit the mother lode, George asks Sam to go to Seattle and fetch his sweetheart, Jennie, but she has already married someone else. Determined to bring George a new love, Sam invites a saloon dancer (Capucine) back to Nome as Jennie's replacement. Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: One of the Duke's more light-hearted movies, it plays like a 60's rom-com. Highly entertaining! I've always loved the song North To Alaska by Johnny Horton. A very young Fabian is hilarious as the lovestruck Billy Pratt. The love interest was played by french beauty Capucine. So gorgeous! Upon reading her bio on IMDB I learned that she was great friends with another beauty, Audrey Hepburn and that she was manic-depressive her whole life, committing suicide in 1990. Pity. Again, not my favorite John Wayne movie but a fun watch! KC Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2010 on July 23rd, 2010) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 1 8. I Will Remember You Original Air Date: 11/23/1999 When exposure to demon blood causes Angel to become mortal, he must decide whether or not to renew his relationship with Buffy. Guest Stars: Carey Cannon Randall Slavin Sarah Michelle Gellar David Wald My Thoughts: Here we have the first time Buffy appears on Angel. It is a good... if somewhat sad episode of you ever wanted to see Buffy and Angel together. The storyline is pretty good. I got a bit of a laugh when Angel first turned human and rushed to the refrigerator. But of course... as always when you get Buffy and Angel together... this is more drama then anything else.
