Rachel Getting Married, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2008 Director: Jonathan Demme Cast: Anne Hathaway, Rosemarie DeWitt, Bill Irwin OverviewWatched: 31st. Jul 2010 My Thoughts: hmmmm what do I say. I find this a strange film to write about here. Did I enjoy it? No. I found the whole environment grating, I honestly have to say that I hope I never go to a wedding with all that kerfuffle. Aspects of the wedding had no rhyme or reason like why all the Indian bits and bobs with the Indian meals, sari's for the bride and bridesmaids, Indian elephant shaped wedding cake flavoured with tumeric and using a kukri to cut the cake. Then the reception with about 10 different bands and performers. The cast came over well and must have put in good performances to get such a reaction. My Rating: Can't say I really enjoyed it but it's better than a 2 Dave ETC a typo (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on July 31st, 2010) The Night Stalker, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: The Night Stalker Movie Count: 70 TV Ep Count: 35 Other Count: 2 Time Started: 11:30am Plot: This unforgettable first entry in the "Night Stalker" series introduced the world to the quirky reporter with a penchant for the paranormal and became "one of the top-rated TV movies of all time" ('Chicago Tribune')! Investigating a series of Las Vegas murders, Carl Kolchak (Darren McGavin) discovers that each victim has been bitten in the neck and drained of blood. Though Kolchak's outlandish theory about the murders gets him nowhere with the police, his initiative to apprehend the killer himself gets him into hot water... with a modern-day vampire! . My Thoughts: This TV Movie from 1972 was enjoyable. Obviously being from the early '70s and originating on TV it doesn't show any gore or anything like that. But I think it is a really good start to the series that came from this movie (and The Night Strangler). This one was also a bit on the short side. Only 74 minutes long. Which means it probably ran for an hour and a half when it originally aired on TV. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 21st, 2008) The 2013 Pilot Review, a review by DJ DoenaSuper Fun Night Super Fun Night @ IMDb Super Fun Night @ Wikipedia Synopsis: Non-laugh track comedy by and with Rebel Wilson who has declared Friday night as "Super Fun Night" where she goes out with her friends and tries to have fun. For this you need to know that these people don't exactly fit the "beautiful people" pattern and are awkward on top of it. My Opinion: The most fun this show provides is the opening titles, singing "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen. Not only are the characters awkward (on purpose I hope) but it's also awkward to watch and rarely funny at all. (From The 2013 Pilot Review on October 10th, 2013) |
