Soul Survivors, a review by RichTitle: Soul Survivors Movie Count:23 TV Ep. Count:15 Runtime:86 Certificate:R Year:2001 Genres:Horror, Suspense/Thriller Plot:After a night of partying, college freshman Cassie (Melissa Sagemiller) and her friends are involved in a bloody car accident that turns into a horrifying tale of the supernatural. Overwhelmed by startling hallucinations, Cassie's grip on reality slips further as she begins a desperate race against time to learn who her real friends are, who wants her dead, and who will be the Soul Survivor. My Review: Fairly unoriginal and clichéd, but not the worst of its ilk. Think final destination and I know what you did last summer, and it fits squarely in that stable of genre. Pretty good production, reasonable teen friendly cast, sensible pace and undramatic portrayal, the film is easy to watch with very little blood letting and more intelligent psychological challenges. The ending is too predictable, and some parts are handled clumsily, with elements of the script just too improbable to be believable. Average movie worth watching, but truthfully not worth recommending as a purchase. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From Rich's October Horror Fest on October 20th, 2009) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a review by Danae CassandraSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs Year of Release: 1937 Directed By: David Hand Starring: Roy Atwell, Stuart Buchanan, Adriana Caselotti, Lucille La Verne, Pinto Colvig Genre: Fantasy, Musical, Animation Overview: No film in history has captured the world's imagination like Walt Disney's first full-length animated masterpiece. Through astonishing Blu-ray™ high definition technology, experience this timeless classic in its most spectacular presentation ever! With an all-new, state-of-the-art digital restoration and Disney Enhanced High Definition sound, the breathtaking animation and unforgettable music of the most revered Disney film of all time will enthrall you like never before! Join the beautiful princess Snow White as she escapes her jealous stepmother, the queen, and befriends a lovable group of dwarfs. But when she falls under the queen's wicked spell, only true love's kiss can save her. My Thoughts: Except in music, Snow White has it all over Cinderella. Snow White is naive, but she actively tries to help herself and improve her life. Yes, she makes terrible decisions but at least she tries something. The only thing Cinderella has is much better songs. Of course, this is also a groundbreaking film and classic piece of animation, so recommended for everyone for at least one viewing. Thieves who possess a sleep-inducing machine plan to pick banks and jewelry stores clean while everyone in Central City experiences a deep slumber. Guest Stars: Bill Mumy as Roger Braintree Richard Belzer as Joe Kline Matt Landers as Harry Milgrim Vito D'Ambrosio as Bellows Biff Manard as Murphy Mike Genovese as Lt. Warren Garfield My Thoughts: A good episode. I did like seeing Barry Allen in a bit of trouble... needing to clear his name. Made for an interesting episode. This one has Bill Mumy in it. I know there was a kid actor in a few episodes of the original Twilight Zone by that name. But I have to wonder if this is the same person or not. I say that because this show was made in 90/91 and he only looked to be in his mid 20s. Though I guess he could have just looked young for his age and be in the mid 30s here. Making it possible I guess. My Rating: (From The Flash Marathon on April 26th, 2010) |
