My Thoughts:
My wife used to drive me nuts always watching Little House on the Prairie before she passed away... so Melissa Sue Anderson is very familiar to me from that.I found this movie to be very good... I really enjoyed it. I have to say... I got a kick out of that bridge game they played towards the beginning of the movie. I think Melissa Sue Anderson did a very good job on this movie. I grew up with '80s horror... and definitely watched quite a bit of it. I would rank this one high on the list of the many movies I remember watching at the time. I found some... if not most of the killings to be really imaginative.

The DVD release could have definitely been better. Especially that cover art! Why they didn't use the movie poster for the cover art I will never understand. And there is actual no extras what so ever on this disc concerning this movie. Not even the theatrical trailer. I would  have loved to seen a few extras here. Some deleted scenes... commentary... pretty much anything that was actually about the movie. But no such luck.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Rango, a review by dfmorgan

Rango

Year: 2011
Director: Gore Verbinski
Cast: Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Ned Beatty

Overview: Get ready to tango with RANGO, a winner with critics and audiences that's "wildly imaginative and wonderfully animated" (Box Office Magazine). Johny Depp is spectacular as Rango, a kooky pet chameleon who gets tossed into a wild and raucous town in desperate need of a hero. Refreshingly original with eye-popping animation, RANGO is "a truly hilarious film" (The Sun).

Watched: 3rd. Sep 2011
My Thoughts: An excellent fun animation with an off-beat take on the western genre. All the voice acting came over well, I will admit though to only definitely recognising one without reference to the cast listing and that was Ray Winstone as Bad Bill.

My Rating: An excellent 4

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

How I Met Your Mother

What's the show about?"Pilot"
Ted's life is about to change. His best friend has just proposed to his girlfriend and she has accepted. And Ted meets a beautiful woman at his favourite bar. She likes dogs, Scotch, can quote Ghostbusters and does not like olives. She's perfect - until he tells her on the first date: "I love you!".

My Opinion
To be perfectly honest, the show had to grow on me. I watched a few episodes on TV and wasn't that thrilled. I still bought the first season on a hunch and watched the first disc. While funny, still no ground-breaking experience for me. Then 4 days ago I gave it another shot. I began with the second disc of the first season and roughly one hour ago I finished with the first episode of the fifth season. And while I enjoyed it very much, I'd still rate Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory higher. HIMYM is one really long romantic comedy movie where you don't meet the female lead (so far) and I really like this kind of movie - if done well. And HIMYM is done well.
