Masters of Horror: Sounds Like, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Masters of Horror: Sounds Like
Movie Count: 45
TV Ep Count: 16
Time Started: 7am
Plot:My Thoughts:
Another Masters of Horror episode. Once again a blind buy as I never watched any of the episodes as they aired on Showtime. This one is a decent episode... though I wouldn't say a favorite. Maybe it is just me... but it seems like I been saying that a lot here lately... seems like season 2 has gone a bit downhill on this how. Not that it isn't still a good show... just don't seem to be what it was in the first season. There has been some really good episodes in the second season... but not as many in my opinion. "Sounds Like" does not have the gore that is present in many of the episodes... but that is fine by me... a horror definitely does NOT have to have gore to be good. It seems to me that this one was a little lacked when it comes to extras as well... but that has seemed to be the case every since Starz took over for Anchor Bay. Over all it was a decent episode... I would suggest either catching it on TV or renting it before you decide to buy this one.

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai, a review by addicted2dvd

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai
East meets West in this hip-hop infused samurai-gangster pic in which Forest Whitaker plays a professional killer who goes by the name of Ghost Dog and who lives by the age-old code of the Samurai.

When Ghost Dog's code is dangerously betrayed by the dysfunctional mafia family that occasionally employs him, he must find a way to defend himself without breaking the code of the Samurai.

My Thoughts:
This was a good movie... had a very strong story. I will admit that it wasn't exactly as I expected... as I was expecting more sword play and martial arts.... but for the most part he used a gun for everything. Not that I am complaining... was a really good movie... was just expecting something different is all.

This is a movie that I got super cheap when the video store I worked for  went out of business. So I got it for like $3.00... and was definitely worth every cent at that price! This DVD has been sitting on my unwatched shelf for about 4 or 5 years now... Wish I would have watched it sooner.

Plot:
College life as seen through the eyes of Steven Karp, a freshman determined to reinvent himself at a new school. Faced with dilemmas as miserable as being "sexiled" to the rec room while roommates use the bedroom and as dire as confronting a girlfriend's jealous stalker-ex-boyfriend, Steven and his new friends tackle the challenges of higher education. Named one of Time magazine's top ten television shows of 2001 and praised for its "pitch perfect" casting, Undeclared is "one of the cum laude comedies of the new season . . . a sneaky funny hoot with endearingly offbeat characters." (Los Angeles Times)

Undeclared
Season 1.18 Eric's POV
Writer: Judd Apatow (Original Characters By), Judd Apatow (Writer), Nicholas Stoller (Writer)
Director: Jon Favreau
Cast: Jay Baruchel (Steven Karp), Carla Gallo (Lizzie Exley), Charlie Hunnam (Lloyd Haythe), Monica Keena (Rachel Lindquist), Christina Payano (Tina Ellroy), Seth Rogen (Ron Garner), Timm Sharp (Marshall Nesbitt), Loudon Wainwright (Hal Karp), Ben Stiller (Rex), Jason Segel (Eric), David Krumholtz (Greg), Kyle Gass (Eugene), Jarrett Grode (Perry), Sarah Ann Morris (Janice), Kim Fifield (Alice), Leroy Adams (Adam), P. B. Smiley (P.B.), Alex Breckenridge (Celeste)

A nice little series. The last episode was fun, but nothing special. Jason Segel plays a derailed ex-boyfriend really well. You saw hints of this with his character in Freaks & Geeks. But here it is a completely different level.
