Plot:
Shot down and taken prisoner early in the Vietnam Conflict, Navy Pilot Jim Stockdale is one of the few who know the truth about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Knowing an admission would be explosive, Jim has remained silent despite eight nightmarish years of torture and inhuman treatment.

Extras:

My Thoughts:

80's TV drama about Jim Stockdale, an American POW in Vietnam who endured more than 6 years of torture while his wife campaigned stateside to expose the treatment of the prisoners.

Very good movie with James Woods, one of my favorites, in the leading role. It was interesting to see that even though he was held captive and was enemies with his torturers, as the years progressed an understanding developed between captor and captive... that both realized each other was merely acting on orders and in defense of their countries. By the time the war ended there was little or no animosity between them and they parted almost as friends.  Compelling drama!

That Man from Rio, a review by GSyren

TitleThat Man from Rio (8-809154-130562). Original title: L'Homme de Rio
DirectorPhilippe de Broca
Actors
Produced1964 in France
Runtime111 minutes
AudioFrench Dolby Digital Mono, Russian Dolby Digital Mono
SubtitlesEnglish, Korean
OverviewAn eight-day pass, a kidnapping, and a greedy group of South American Indians provide the basic ingredients of this madcap adventure. A French air force pilot has the pass and plans to use it to see his girl friend in Paris. He gets there just in time to see a gang of South American Indians, who believe that the girl knows the location of a set of statues that can pinpoint the location of a fabulous jungle treasure, kidnapping her. He follows them to the Brazilian jungle and many riotous adventures ensue. Eventually the lovers manage to escape and return to France just before the pilot's pass expires.
My thoughtsFrom looking at the cover image you might think that That Man from Rio is a Bond spoof. It isn't. It's more of a romantic adventure in the Indiana Jones style, with a bit of Tintin thrown in.

Philippe de Broca made several great movies, many with Belmondo. My favorites, apart from this one, are Cartouche and Le MagnifiqueLe Magnifique. It's also hard to find, but there is a French R2/PAL release that has French, English and German audio.
My rating3 out of 5

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

The Big Bang Theory
Physicists Leonard and Sheldon understand everything from the inescapable gravitational pull of a black hole to the intricate structure of the atom. But take those atoms and assemble them into a woman, and their comprehension comes to a grinding halt. And when Penny, a woman will all those atoms in all the right places, moves in aross the hall, Leonard and Sheldon's universe begins to expand in ways they could never have imaged.

When series creators Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (Dharma & Greg) combine equal parts science, superheroes and sex and add stars Johnny Galecki (Roseanne) and Jim Parsons (Judging Amy), the result is an explosively funny comedy for the nerd in all of us.

Pilot
Brain doesn't have much of a chance against brawn when Leonard and Sheldon try to retrieve Penny's TV from her muscle-bound ex.

My Thoughts:
I am sure it is no surprise to anyone here... but I find this to be an absolutely hilarious show. I think the entire cast is great in this series. And Kaley Couco is absolutely lovely as the gorgeous neighbor. I have watched this multiple times since it originally aired... and it just does not get old. It is also a favorite of Brittany's and she just watched this pilot episode with me... we were both literally laughing out loud through-out the entire episode.
