Hotel for Dogs, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Hotel for Dogs: Widescreen Year: 2009 Director: Thor Freudenthal Rating: PG Length: 100 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, Commentary: Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Emma Roberts Jake T. Austin Don Cheadle Johnny Simmons Kyla Pratt Plot: Comedy is unleashed in this box office hit that "will have you begging for more." (Pete Hammond, Hollywood.com) When Andi (Emma Roberts) and Bruce (Jake T. Austin) need somewhere to hide their dog, Friday, they transform an abandoned hotel into a place where no stray gets turned away. Loaded with adorable dogs, a team of clever kids and ingenious gadgets, this heartwarming adventure will leave you wondering - who let the dogs in? Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery My Thoughts: I told Brittany I would watch another one from her collection with her this weekend. Still sticking with a DVD I never seen before of course. In this case a movie I never seen. This is a cute movie... it had several laughs in it for me. Definitely worth checking out... especially if you already like family movies. Of course like any family movie it has the all-around happy ending. But that is to be expected in these types of movies. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 9th, 2010) Return to Me, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Return to Me Year: 2000 Director: Bonnie Hunt Rating: PG Length: 116 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: David Duchovny Minnie Driver Carroll O'Connor Robert Loggia Bonnie Hunt David Alan Grier Plot: Who knew that when he ordered the special, he'd get the dish of his life? David Duchovny ("The 'X'-Files") and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) ignite sparks in this "warm-hearted winner" (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview) about a widower and a waitress who meet and fall in love. Featuring an incredible all-star cast, this hilarious romantic comedy delivers a lot of laughs, tears and joys that will make your spirits soar. It took a lot of coaxing to get Bob (Duchovny), a recently widowed architect, to go on a blind date at a quirky Irish-Italian eatery. Once there, he's smitten instantly...not with his date, but with the sharp-witted waitress, Grace (Driver). With unsolicited help from Grace's match-making Grandfather (Carroll O'Connor), Bob asks her out. And as their relationship blossoms, everything seems to be going great, until an unbelievable truth is revealed...one that could easily break both of their hearts for good. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Music Videos Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This one has some good cast in it... so I was looking forward to checking it out. But what I didn't realize until I was a good half way through the movie is that this is a movie I caught a very small part of years ago at a relative's house but never knew what it was. They had it on cable when I went and it drew me in pretty quick... but we left shortly after we got there... and I never found out what it was. So not only was this a good movie... it is one I been wanting to see for several years now. I found this one to be a great story... very moving and fun at the same time. I like how they showed it as the heart being much more then a muscle that pumps blood. That there is something there... something special... something recognizable. This is one I definitely recommend... if you haven't seen this movie before... give it a chance.
