Becca, an angst-ridden teenager at a new high school, finds herself torn between two supernatural suitors; a moody vampire and an extremely hairy werewolf. From two of the comedy masterminds that wrote Scary Movie and costarring Ken Jeong (The Hangover), this laugh-out-loud comedy will leave you howling for more!

My Thoughts:
This is a movie my brother rented from Netflix. And with my love of anything vampires I had to check it out before he sent it back. I am not what you would call a big Twilight fan. But I did see the first movie. And while it wasn't what I would call great... it entertained me. Knowing that this movie is a parody of mostly of the Twilight movies... I went into this one not expecting all that much. But with my curiosity peaked. I find that normally most spoofs tend to go too far on the stupid... immature jokes. And this one does have that as well. But I found it to be better then some I have seen out there. There is some scenes here that I literally laughed out loud on. But it could have been a lot better. Now... would I add this to my collection? Well... it isn't one I will be looking forward to adding. But if I found it cheap enough... say $5 and under... then I would probably pick it up.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Simpatico, a review by Rich

Simpatico

Vincent (NICK NOLTE) and Lyle (JEFF BRIDGES) were once the best of friends - training thoroughbred horses in 1970's California, tearing up the highway in a '58 Buick, spending nights around a campfire, dreaming about the future. Seduced by the highstakes world of horseracing, they plan the perfect scam. In the process, they destroy an innocent man's life and the friendship of a lifetime.
Twenty years later, Carter is the multi-millionaire owner of a Kentucky horse farm while Vinnie is a down-and-out deluded barfly living on the edge in California. The time has come, in Vinnie's mind, to settle the score.
Tricking Carter into travelling back to California, Vinnie sets off for Kentucky to ruin Carter and his wife (SHARON STONE) and offer restitution to Simms (ALBERT FINNEY), the man whose life was destroyed all those many years ago.

Very disjointed, contrived and purposeless film, despite an enviable cast list, you feel little sympathy for the characters and it all feels very awkward. The leads have little chemistry together and are generally unconvincing, the plot becomes ludicrous as it searches for entertainment, and the most unfulfilling ending imaginable is coughed up.
Perhaps the only interesting part of the film is watching Nolte clean himself up in a suit, and Bridges's decline to drink and a vest, a real role reversal.
Keeners role as the messenger in particular was unbelievable, seriously is anyone really that stupid?
I read this was adapted from a play, one can only be grateful we were not subjected to this on a stage!

Dark Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Season 2: Disc 4

12. Borrowed Time
When Max and Logan finally find a cure for their genetically engineered virus, it turns out to be only temporary. Their time together is limited and to make matters worse they have to stop a strange Manticore creation that is on the loose in Seattle and preying on people.

My Thoughts:
This was a good episode... I enjoyed it... even though I did feel that the main creature thing that Max had to go against was a bit over the top.

13. Harbor Lights
When Max is accidentally shot during a botched robbery attempt and taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, her true transgenic identity is threatened with exposure when abnormal qualities show up in her medical test results.

My Thoughts:
This is another episode that I enjoyed. Of course they had to also put her in mortal danger at the same time. I can't put my finger on it... but this episode did remind me of a movie.

14. Love in Vein
Max must take on a cult of superhuman-blood addicts when she learns they're being led by a Manticore mutant intent on rebuilding an X-5 army.

My Thoughts:
Once again... really enjoyed it. In this episode they played around with the Vampire legend a bit. Of course it is just barely recognizable.... but it is there.

15. Fuhgeddaboudit
A genetically enhanced hypnotist targets Logan and Max, who reveals her true identity and Logan's secret activities before realizing that she is being manipulated as part of a deadly plan - but luckily she doesn't remember doing it.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the episodes I would categorize as good... but far from great. I liked the basic idea... I loved the fight between Max and Alec... I hated the hypnotist. She was extremely annoying!
