Decoys, a review by Rich

Title: Decoys

Movie Count:16
TV Ep. Count:13

Runtime:96
Certificate:R
Year:2004
Genres:Horror, Science-Fiction, Comedy

Plot:Some students aren't exactly what they seem to be in DECOYS, a sci-fi/horror adventure starring Kim Poirier (Dawn of the Dead), Richard Burgi (Starship Troopers 2), Corey Sevier (TV's "North Shore") and Nicole Eggert (TV's "Baywatch").
If college coeds Lily and Constance look like two out-of-this-world blonde beauties, that's because they're actually intergalactic space invaders with a mission: to breed with humans before taking over the Earth. And even though the girls' mating skills have proven fatal to their victims, they keep on trying. So when Luke, a hard-partying freshman, accidentally witnesses the shapely shape-shifters in their full-bodied alien state, he knows it's up to him to save the planet before he truly gets wasted.

My Review:
Absolutely bonkers comedy/scifi or is it horror of sorts??? Still it was pretty amusing with a bevy of bikini clad lizards in blonde get-ups seducing the local college fraternity to respawn. Unluckily for the guys, they die after the magic moment from a tentacle that shoots out of the womens navel down their throats  ;D
The cast actually work well together with good chemistry, and the effects again were surprisingly effective. Reminded me a lot of the faculty, with a bit of species and the craft thrown in.
Cool ending!
My Rating
Out of a Possible 5

Shutter, a review by Jimmy

Title : Shutter (2004)

Overview
Late one night on a country road. Tun and Jane accidentally run down a mysterious pedestrian. Fleeing the scene, they return to their lives in Bangkok, but soon discover that life has returned to anything but normal. Nightmares haunt Jane's dreams while Tun, a photographer, notice odd spectral figures begin to appear in his work. Returning to investigate the site of the accident, they can find neither rumour nor report of the victim. But when one by one, Tun's closest friends begin to die, he and Jane know they must unravel this mystery before it unravels their very lives.

My Impression
Those Asians are certainly the master to create fear without a lot of blood or music trick. This one is another one who deal with the spirit world (sometimes it get annoying since 90% of their horror films are based on that), but this one deal with the remorse and sorrow emotions also. Of course if you have seen a lot of these Asian films you will get a good idea from the start where this film will go, but it countains a good part of surprise. Be sure that this film will make you jump by moment and that some moments are really scary (by exemple the ladder scene near the end or the moving spirit in the series of polaroid). By moment the films is confusing but all will become clearer while the story progress. This isn't an american production, so don't expect a feel good ending.

The Office
Season 9.23 Finale

The final season of The Office was a let down for me. The series has been one of my favorites, but it went on now too long until they didn't have any good ideas anymore. Some of the characters became a joke. Especially Andy this last season.
The finale itself was okay. I enjoyed it. Luckily the last season dealt a little with the airing of the documentary. And this last episode is set one year after the documentary has aired. Maybe it would have been better, if the documentary would have started airing toward the beginning of this season, and we could have seen the cast dealing with impact throughout the season.
