| My thoughts | My Doris Day marathon continues. This time with a remake of the 1940 comedy "My Favorite Wife" that starred Irene Dunne and Cary Grant. If you're looking for a Doris Day musical, look somewhere else. Apart from the title song over the opening credits, the only time you'll hear Doris sing is when she sings a lullaby to her children. As a comedy, this film is pleasant enough. However, James Garner is no Cary Grant. The story is rather farfetched. Doris has been shipwrecked and has lived together with one other survivor on a deserted island for five years. She has been rescued by the Navy and arrives back home the very same day that her husband has had her declared legally dead, and has remarried. Confusion ensues... The original is really a better film that this one, so unless you're a Doris Day fan, you're better off watching "My Favorite Wife". But then again, everyone is a Doris Day fan, right? |

Plot:

My Thoughts:
Decent time-loop movie. Here the characters can travel 20 minutes back in time to try to prevent a maniac (James Belushi) killing other people with at first worse outcome as before. I can recommend it when you find a good bargain. Bad thing is, that the DVD release is quite old and has non-anamorphic picture and no bonus features.Rating:

Plot:
School is finally out for the summer and Yukari Morita has big plans this season. It's off to the Solomon Islands for her, in search of her long lost father. Unfortunately the archipelago stretches over 28,000 square kilometers and boasts a population of about 500,000 people. With odds like that, what's a girl to do? Luckily for Yukari the local Solomon Space Agency is in desperate need of a new astronaut. With their promise to help find her father Yukari begins her part time job as an astronaut!
