Race to Witch Mountain, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Race to Witch Mountain Year: 2009 Director: Andy Fickman Rating: PG Length: 98 Min. Video: Widescreen Audio: English Subtitles: N/A Stars: Dwayne Johnson AnnaSophia Robb Alexander Ludwig Carla Gugino Plot: A Las Vegas cabbie enlists the help of a UFO expert to protect two siblings with paranormal powers from the clutches of an organization that wants to use the kids for their nefarious plans. My Thoughts: I watched this one on Starz On-Demand. I wanted to watch this movie with Brittany today... but she didn't want to as she said she already watched it and didn't care for it. While I agree that I have seen better... I did still like it. I enjoyed the story and liked the effects. And I felt the characters were likable as well. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Anything Goes on January 22nd, 2010) Green Lantern: First Flight , a review by Tom
Stars: Christopher Meloni as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern Victor Garber as Sinestro Tricia Helfer as Boodikka Michael Madsen as Kilowog John Larroquette as Tomar Re Plot: When pilot Hal Jordan accepts a mysterious, powerful ring from a dying alien creature, it transforms him into a Green Lantern, one of an elite force of heroes who patrol the universe to ensure peace and justice under the leadership of the Guardians of the Universe. It's a battle of might and willpower as Hal must prove his worth by defeating Sinestro to save the Green Lantern Corps. My Thoughts: I haven't had much contact with Green Lantern yet. I recently saw the new movie. While not great, I enjoyed myself. This animated movie is similar in a way. Though I like the bad guy a lot better. In the live-action version they have saved him for a sequel. I was a little disappointed, that this movie almost exclusivley is set in space. Green Lantern isn't seen back on Earth after he left for his training. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on August 13th, 2011) Birthday Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdI Love Lucy: Season 6 Lucy and Superman Lucy promises Little Ricky that Superman (George Reeves) will be at his birthda party, but when it looks like he can't make it, she tries to fill the bill herself. My Thoughts: I Normally like to watch my DVD sets in order... but I decided to make an exception to this one since I have already seen every episode of I Love Lucy ever made. This has always been one of my favorite episodes of I Love Lucy. I guess this is because I also always been a fan of Adventures of Superman. It really is a hilarious episode. My favorite line in this episode... Ricky: In all the 15 years we been married this is the craziest stunt you ever pulled! Superman: Wait a minute, you been married to her for 15 years? Ricky: Yeah, 15 years! Superman: And they call me Superman! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Birthday Marathon on May 25th, 2009) |
