Plot:
Don Bolton (Bob Hope) is a movie star with a phobia about loud noises. Not wanting to give up his career and his easy life, he plans to dodge the military draft by getting married. Don meets the lovely Tony Fairbanks (Dorothy Lamour) when she visits his set with her father, Peter (Clarence Kolb), a colonel, and the two are soon engaged. In an effort to boost Tony's opinion of him, Don pretends to join the army. The ruse backfires, however, and he finds himself actually enlisted.

Extras:
  • None

My Thoughts:

A fun film. Lots of funny situations in this one. Caught in the Draft has 2 of the 3 stars of the "Road to" films. Only Bing Crosby missing. Bob Hope's character here is a lot of fun to watch. The things you will get yourself into for a girl you like!

Madhouse, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Madhouse
Movie Count: 74
TV Ep Count: 38
Other  Count: 2
Time Started: 7am
Plot:
Masters Of macabre Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Robert Quarry give performances to die for in this "diverting little chiller" ('Boxoffice')! When horror star Paul Toombes' fiancee is brutally killed, he loses more than his job... he loses his mind. But twelve years later, when he returns to TV -- only to discover a fresh batch of corpses -- Paul finally begins to understand that melodrama can be murder on your career!

My Thoughts:
Since Jimmy, a friend on one of the boards I posts these to, requested a review for this movie I thought it was about time for me to watch it. Being a Vincent Price movie alone is a good indicator that you will want to check the movie out at least once. This one I would say is a good movie... but not one of the best Vincent Price movies I have ever seen. I am glad I added it to my collection though. In this movie they show clips of what they say is clips from old Dr. Death movies... in reality they used clips from old Vincent Price movies, including "The Pit and the Pendulum", "Tales of Terror", "Scream and Scream Again" and "The Raven". Unfortunately for me.... there is several scenes with spiders. I hate spiders... I have arachnophobia pretty bad... so even the sight of spiders do tend to bother me at times.

My Rating

Audio:English: Dolby Digital 1, Spanish: Dolby Digital 1

Plot:
They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, and now for the first time, they're on DVD! The Addams Family, America's first family of ghastly giddiness, are here in all of their ghoulish glory in the original TV series based on the delightfully demented imagination of Charles Addams. Tarantulas, torture racks, and tombstones have never been so much fun! Join Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Cousin Itt, and the rest of the gang for a fiendishly funny and altogether ooky experience. It's time to pay a call on...The Addams Family!

The Addams Family
1.01 The Addams Family Goes to School
Writer: Seaman Jacobs (Writer), Ed James (Writer), Charles Addams (Original Characters By)
Director: Arthur Hiller
Cast: Carolyn Jones (Morticia), John Astin (Gomez), Allyn Joslyn (Mr. Hilliard), Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester), Ted Cassidy (Lurch), Blossom Rock (Grandmama), Lisa Loring (Wednesday), Ken Weatherwax (Pugsley), Madge Blake (Miss Comstock), Nydia Westman (Miss Morrison), Rolfe Sedan (Postman), Itself (The Thing)

I always enjoyed this series when I caught it on TV. But it is not a series I can watch many episodes after another. This is why I still have my volumes 2 and 3 unwatched.
The canned laughter was especially annoying here. I am already quite used to series without laugh track.
