My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever seen this film... but I am a fan of the old TV series even though I haven't seen the series since I was a kid. Since I haven't seen the series in so many years I really can't accurately compare the film to the series. But what I can say is I had a lot of fun watching this film. There is a lot of great action and a few decent laughs along the way as well. I would recommend checking this one out. It is great for a couple hours of mindless fun!

Review
Once upon a time there was a prima donna pop princess who believed in her boy-toy brain that she was an actress. Although her acting style was as vacuous as her prowess for vocalizing the inane and vapid lyrics to her so called songs, in her heart of hearts she was a bona fide thespian. One day the princess married her prince charming, an up and coming creative independent film director named Guy Ritchie, whose career would be turned to stone after his liaison with the pop Medusa. Together they would conspire to remake and re-create the onscreen magic of a film by Lina Wertmuller from 1974, called Travolti da un insolito destino nell'azzurro mare d'agosto, American translation This is a film that most definitely should be avoided at all cost!!!

Different to the usual Columbo episode. In this one no murder takes place but a kidnapping. And Columbo and the other cops are trying to find out who the kidnapper is througout the episode. There is no scene where Columbo is talking to the criminal trying to get him to slip up.
It answers a question: Is the behaviour of Columbo towards a criminal a complete act or is he like that by nature. This episode shows him as a very competent and highly regarded police officer throughout. There is no scene with the typical Columbo mannerisms at all.
