Rango, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2011 Director: Gore Verbinski Cast: Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Ned Beatty Overview: Get ready to tango with RANGO, a winner with critics and audiences that's "wildly imaginative and wonderfully animated" (Box Office Magazine). Johny Depp is spectacular as Rango, a kooky pet chameleon who gets tossed into a wild and raucous town in desperate need of a hero. Refreshingly original with eye-popping animation, RANGO is "a truly hilarious film" (The Sun). Watched: 3rd. Sep 2011 My Thoughts: An excellent fun animation with an off-beat take on the western genre. All the voice acting came over well, I will admit though to only definitely recognising one without reference to the cast listing and that was Ray Winstone as Bad Bill. My Rating: An excellent 4 (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on September 4th, 2011) The Invincible Iron Man, a review by addicted2dvdThe Invincible Iron Man Past and present collide in this epic adventure that reveals the origin of Iron Man My Thoughts: While I did like the storyline of this movie... I didn't care for it nearly as much as I did the live action movie. I was a little surprised they retold the origins of Iron Man in this cartoon... this time taking place in China. I also didn't care for the idea of supernatural villains for Iron Man. Though I was happily surprised with the length of this one. As most of the animated superhero movies I have collected so far has been just barely over an hour... this one is closer to a normal movie... clocking in at almost an hour and a half. And the DVD has a nice little collection of extras as well. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Superhero Marathon on July 4th, 2009) The 2013 Pilot Review, a review by DJ DoenaMom Mom @ IMDb Mom @ Wikipedia Synopsis: Christy (Anna Faris, The Dictator) used to be a teenage mom who has now a teenage daughter, is working as a waitress at a restaurant and is having an affair (on his side) with her boss. And then there is her mother (Allison Janney, The West Wing) who - like her daughter - is a recovering alcoholic and Violet (Christy's daughter) who's also becoming a teenage mom. A laugh track sitcom. My Opinion: This is the newest creation by Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly). The characters are enjoyable and grow on you over the first few episodes. I'm not completely sure about the show yet but I'm willing to give it a chance.
