My Thoughts: I grew up with the Transformers toys (Generation 1). But I never really followed the animated series. I only saw it a couple of times. I preferred the He-Man and M.A.S.K. cartoons. I think this movie is great as a mindless action flick. There are some jokes which are cringeworthy, but overall the movie is fun. Of course it has some stupid plot which pulled me out of the movie a little. E.g. the stupid hacker who after a few seconds after putting in the alien signal has it decrypted (and even has the message in English). Or that it seems that the government is just telling anyone who is willing to listen about their top-secret encounter with aliens. Stars: Paul Newman (1925) as Henry Gondorff Robert Redford as Johnny Hooker Robert Shaw (1927) as Doyle Lonnegan Charles Durning as Lt. Wm. Snyder Ray Walston as J.J. Singleton Plot: Winner of 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, The Sting stars Paul Newman and Robert Redford as two con men in 1930s Chicago. After a friend is killed by the mob, they try to get even by attempting to pull off the ultimate "sting." No one is to be trusted as the twists unfold, leading up to one of the greatest double-crosses in movie history. The con is on! Extras:
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Thought both Redford and Newman was great in their roles. It is a fun movie with a few laughs in it. This one has it's share of twists and turns... some of which you see coming a mile away while others catch you by surprise. It is a good way to waste a couple hours. Glad I finally got to see it! Rating: (From 2018 Challenge: Box Office TOP 100 FILMS OF ALL-TIME (Domestic Gross) on March 21st, 2018) Charmed Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdDisc 6: 20. Witch Wars The Charmed Ones' powers are in jeopardy when they are tricked into taking part in a new demonic reality television show, where demon contestants compete to hunt down the sisters. The winning demon acquires their powers. My Thoughts: This one I really got a kick out of... was one of the good ones. I liked how they made fun of Reality TV. Definitely one of my favorites. 21. It's A Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World After Chris and Leo fall through a portal that transports them to an evil mirrored world, Phoebe and Paige must travel to the parallel universe to rescue them while battling their evil counterparts. My Thoughts: This was a good episode... but not one of my favorites... especially for a season finale. It just came off a little to silly for my tastes. But it wasn't really bad. It definitely had it's moments. Over-All Season 6 Thoughts: This is one of my favorite seasons. I really enjoy the character of Chris and how they handled his storyline from beginning to end. I liked how they didn't let us know much about him... and how we just got drabs of info on him through-out the season. Unfortunately, like most seasons of Charmed there is no Charmed related extras what so ever in this set. All you get is a handful of trailers for other series on the first disc.(From Charmed Marathon on July 11th, 2008) |
